Ooh! A “civil suit”. That’ll do the trick! Remind me WTF do we pay the DOJ for? Because whatever it is it’s clearly not justice.

For me, the worst thing about Peter Navaro is that he has ruined my love of Daffy Duck cartoons.

And that is on top of Senator John Kennedy ruining Foghorn Leghorn.

Yeah. If you ever get sued by the DoJ for violating a federal law, feel free to just completely ignore it because it’s absolutely meaningless. Nothing very bad can happen to you because there are no remedies available to a federal court that could put you into criminal jeopardy if you tell them to go fuck themselves.

Very well taken point. Some seemed to be there to exploit their position around the center of power for a variety of causes, a few out of a concern for the damage Trump might cause to their party, and some for their own reasons.

But it’s not just about “competent.” I honestly cannot think of any regime anywhere or any time that had such a lethal combination of incompetent imbeciles, buffoons, stone psychopaths, corrupt grifters, and fourth-rate hacks at every level of government as Trump’s last two years. Certainly none in American history.

I’m sure if you put a couple dozen historians specializing in different eras and countries together in a room, they could come up with some country in its final stages of decay led by a stupid corrupt megalomaniac who filled every office with inbred aristocratic cretins and venal, short-sighted, degenerate courtiers that would be comparable. Its possible even I may dredge up one from my memory if I really put my mind to it over the next few days. But if so, I doubt any of them were countries that weren’t in an even deeper state of final, irreversible decay than we are.

Nothing says “desperation” (or “chutzpah” or “desperate chutzpah”) like trying to negotiate for immunity over records that you are required by law and now also by subpoena to turn over. You really aren’t starting from a position of strength.

Pretty ballsy of those lawyers to ask for immunity prior to handing over the records they’re obligated to hand over to the government. I guess they were fishing for a fix that it doesn’t look like they’re going to get for their client.

I can’t agree with this enough. But there were a few “establishment” people, Trump’s maladministration needed them because Donnie and Jared had no idea that they had to fill so many positions.

The strangest one of all is Marc Short. He was the legislative director at the WH. And then Charlottesville VA happened. And Trump made his “there were very fine people on both sides” comment. Marc resigned, and Pence took him in as his Chief of Staff.

Oh I had forgotten about the big board, that morphed into two, then three, and all the times the font had to be reduced just get all the names on the 3 boards.

I wonder if they had put each name on a scroll roll and played while she was doing her show, would if fill her whole time slot, or would it have to go into O’Donnell’s show?

Hasn’t Navarro already admitted to all his crimes, on Ari Melbar’s show?

You’re thinking of a Marx Brothers movie.

It is comical that low-level shnooks like Navarro still have no idea that they are the perfect candidates to try, arrest and jail for these crimes!

Navarro is a loud nobody who will serve as an example to the other spineless criminals and if he’s not flat broke yet due to his legal troubles, he soon will be. Does he actually think Trump will step up to help him in any way? Now that’s funny.

Clearly the lawyers saw a bunch of stuff and told him, dude, you need immunity, bra.

I remember when he was a gadfly at City Hall here in San Diego. Who the hell puffed him up to where he thought he was important?

Dude really needs to do hard prison time.

Hate to sicken TPM commenters with an image but does this mean Peter has become a “Buttery males”? A candidate for “lock her/him up” is the better image but couldn’t resist. We’re slowly going full circle on these bastards. Any accusation by GOPers is a projection.

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen mentioned that DOJ also has a civil division. It’s the first time I’ve taken notice though. Interesting things they do there.
