DOJ Charges Louisville Police Officers In Connection With Breonna Taylor’s Death

Perhaps there will be punitive damages. Isn’t this compensatory damages?

I have been getting a vibe for a while that we may not have to add more justices to the SC. Kavanaugh and Thomas are on a ground that’s shifting.
Could I be wrong? Sure. What fun is that?

A separate, shorter trial during which punitive damages will be discussed is now expected. Punitive damages are awarded when the court finds the defendant’s behavior to be especially offensive. We will se what comes of that one.

But even if there is further costs to asshole Jones out of that trial, it doesn’t obviate that the $4.1 million in compensatory damages is still a joke. It should have been far higher (the plantifees were seeking $150 million).

The trial will now enter a second phase, in which the jury will consider evidence of Mr. Jones’s net worth to determine how much, if anything, to award Mr. Heslin and Ms. Lewis in punitive damages.

And this is only the first set of parents. There are how many more? It’ll be a cakewalk.

The parents attorney said the following and also this is but one lawsuit. There are others. He’s in deep with potential perjury charges, and everyone wants the digital copy of his cell phone.

Outside the courthouse Thursday, the plaintiffs’ attorney Mark Bankston insisted that the $4.11 million amount wasn’t a disappointment, noting it was only part of the damages Jones will have to pay.

The total amount awarded in this case could set a marker for the other lawsuits against Jones and underlines the financial threat he’s facing

Well, finally some justice for this poor soul who was killed through careless and overzealous action by law enforcement. Let’s hope this closes an open wound for a beleaguered community which deserves some measure of accountability.

I just listened to his holier than thou explanation and it didn’t pass the sniff test. He boasted about speaking in a harsh and demeaning manner. Lotta respect for women there./s

Not only is Cameron the worst of stooges, he makes Clarence Thomas look like an amateur. He’s truly incompetent and a puppet of all puppets to McConnell. He has no real world experience to be AG of KY, none, he has no business being in that job. He’s robotically horrible.

About time—these bad cops need to face serious consequences for their bad acts.

It’s about time some action was taken against these cops. Their Department avoided charging them. The city whiffed. Cameron did damage control and the Trump DoJ did nothing.
