Reports have already surfaced that agents provocateur in Portland are wearing press IDs to provoke a response from Trumpnik’s stormtroopers. So it makes sense that now they’re somehow using this to justifying a crackdown on reporters due to these “reporters” committing crimes.

Yes, the administration’s goons do feel threatened by those whose job it is to inform the public about what the government is doing. And it appears Trump’s US Attorney is willing to back Wild Bill Barr in silencing the press. All in the service of Law and Order as Barr defines it. This is a clear step toward tyranny.
