In 2020, private health insurance companies made out very well, as they continued to collect premiums and very few people had health/wellness visits and no elective surgeries and avoided needed surgeries unless critical. And collected COVID money from the Feds. Now, they will enforce all co-pays and deductibles on patients because the hospitals are billing again. For everything, including drugs and COVID critical care. One more reason to make sure you’re vaccinated and masking!

Lots of military folks in Texas. I don’t expect this decision to be accepted positively by them. It’s a blatant politicization of things that shouldn’t be politicized - common decency and respect for the fallen.

I don’t think the deadliest do, actually. The plague still exists–there was an outbreak in the U.S. as late as the early Twentieth Century, I believe–and killers like smallpox had to be extirpated from the world through an exhaustive immunization campaign.

And a reluctance to publically acknowledge the true scope of the information monitored and stored for that matter. They have some amazing data mining spiders…I wonder what the computational speed is of the machine they use to decrypt/transcribe/compress the data stream is.
I know folks like saying this, but it is 100% false. There’s neither the storage capacity nor the mechanism for this. Simply science.
What data stream? There’s literally billions.
The world does not owe us herd immunity. Plagues are apt to die out once they thin the herd to the point that R drops but this is not the same thing as immunity. To the extent that a plague provides immunity it does so by infecting and killing a certain percentage. With vaccination you get immunity without as many deaths.

Dotard is a word that has been part of the English language for centuries. Maybe a half-millenium. It refers to a person who is senile.
The North Korean translators got it from a dictionary, which did not tell them the word has fallen out of use. My guess is that it was a good match for a Korean word.
