Bernie can bring the anger…but never quite the softer compassion. And I don’t mean that as a knock on Bernie or to suggest that he doesn’t care.
Joe just has that innate ability to be strong, even angry, but still compassionate.
Kinda like a Northern Atticus Finch.

Joe brought the Righteous Anger today. His passion was palpable and genuine. He was eloquent, sharp-witted, and cutting in his remarks about Trump and his moral failure as a Commander-in-Chief, Barr, Q-Anon, and Russia.
He was all that Trump is not.

Well, of course Trump will deny it. He would deny it if there was tape, video and a dozen eye witnesses. And of course his cult will go along. Most of them. But some of them will wonder. Some of them have parents, siblings, spouses who have served. Some of them were handed a flag like I was when they buried my father. He was no loser or sucker, he was the best man I ever knew and I miss him every day. There will be people like that who have supported Trump and they will have to wrestle with this. I think Biden was sincere today because I think Beau was his treasure. People always love their kids, but sometimes there will be that one kid that just makes you proud. I think Beau was that kid for Biden.

Having spent 3 1/2 years helping to care for Vietnam wounded and still feeling survivors guilt that I did not do enough, you have no idea what I think of Trump and anyone who supports him.
I am not asking anyone to love the military but know they are needed.
Trump knows he does not need our Military because he knows Putin, like Belarus, is wiling to back him.
Once again, Trump believes he can buy manlyness and still remain the coward he is now, always has been and always will be.

I think a lot of us were. It was a different place and time and situation, before the bounty shit, covid, and this changed the landscape entirely.

Biden said that if the article is true — as it appears to be based on comments the President has made — “it is absolutely damnable. It is a disgrace.”
If it’s proven Trump said these things it will endear him to his base even more so than they love him now. There will probably be a rush to go to Arlington and spit on graves.
