Go to the mat. Going to the mat is when you are going to take an aggressive stance and fight someone. Going to the mattress is a quote from the Godfather, and it means you intend to shoot someone in the head while they are sleeping at home. Slightly different.
Although maybe it is a sexual reference in this case…

I agree with Dayspring about one thing, this “Charles C. Johnson” is not a journalist. Don’t know why the media refers to him as one, for example, this very site we are on. Very confusing, like the fact that Fox is allowed to lie and misinform daily, but yet receives journalist respect from their non Fox peers. But I guess some journalist throughout history can be just as corrupt as the politicians they hang out with, creating a strange, strange brew that is not good for a democracy, but fits a plutocracy and/or theocracy just fine.
