If people went around fact checking politicians in real time, it would make it impossible to be a modern republican as virtually their entire appeal is based on deception and bearing false witness. Such behavior simply can not be tolerated as it destroys the very mojo that the media is so eager to create for candidates, who seem unable to think their way out of a paper bag on their own.
