Exactly the first thing I thought of as well. How does this resonate with Fox’s basic, core audience? Pumping up the Bengazi makes sense with that crowd. Bringing up ageism? Not such a good idea.
You know, most of us who have seen a few decades of these types of smear campaigns can already see the outilines:
If the candidate’s young, whine that he’s inexperienced.
If the candidate’s old, wink and make comments about dementia.
If the candidate’s non-white, trot out the stereotypes.
If the candidate’s female, mansplain how she can’t decide anything because ladyparts.
Etc., etc., etc.
I dread this campaign season that has lengthened to infinity because it just means we get more of this shit, bankrolled by billionaires.

Rove has got serious desperation issues, that he puts on display every time he appears on the air. Who can forget election night 2012 when he refused to believe that Ohio went for Pres.
