Discussion:

Obama’s correspondence dinner riff on the Donald is absolute Gold! Before he drops out of the GOP race, I would love to see this clip go viral. Perhaps Hillary can find a place for this clip and make Trump so pissed off that he decides to launch a 3rd party WH effort.

They’re wearing winter coats, so it isn’t September.

The thing is, the only reason its 7 minutes, is because he kids finished their reading lesson for that day. If it had been a 30 minute reading lesson, he would have sat there frozen for the entire thing. He simply didn’t know what to do, and so purposefully disengaged (shirked) his duties as Commander in Chief.

Even after leaving, he then spent rest of the day running for cover and hiding, convinced HE was the real victim of that day.

I wonder what Mr. Trump was doing on that occasion and other similar ones?

What a perfect example of the disjointed, incoherent, irrational and tangential thought process of the conservative mind at this point. It clearly makes zero sense, draws causal connections where there are none, blatantly attempts to write a narrative that has nothing to do with reality and contains not one iota of substantive factual backup, thought, ideas or analysis and pretty much just functions as an elaborate “they have cooties” insult. Playground Politics at its finest.

WAY TOO COOL to stay locked up on youtube or wherever. How do we get this out there for all to see?

It was perfect. The grand irony now is that the media itself and all those attending the WH Correspondent’s Dinner that evening will now “forget” both Obama’s comments that burned Trump and the fact that Bin Laden was captured that evening. Because it would not fit their frequent meme of trashing the president and helping out the GOP.

Like Romney’s military experience? Or W.'s? Or Reagan’s? I won’t even bother dipping into the others who ran for the nomination and lost.

Part of that, though, on both parties, is because we really haven’t had serious long term military engagements post Vietnam. So joining the military became a career of its own, not a stepping stone to running for running for office. My guess is we will never see someone who served in Vietnam elected President at this point.

That’s changing now with Iraq and Afghanistan of course. Tammy Duckworth and Tim Cotton spring to mind as good examples from each party on that point. So its still important to both parties, but being a career officer and not fighting in any wars really isn’t that impressive of a resume to the voters. Clark never garnered much excitement, and Patreaus, who actually was a general during the current conflicts, has pretty much self destructed, despite efforts to rehabilitate his name.

Haha…yeah…gotta love the “I’m having that motherfucker whacked right now and I can’t wait to see the looks on your faces” smile…fucking classic.

If what is real?

The morons susceptible to this already are among those stupid enough to be supporting Trump. He’s not going to gain any independent voters with this nonsense. But then again, he’s not in it to win it, he’s in it to monetize the brand and exercise leverage with the eventual nominee.

In other words, standard “conservative” slop.

Typical bullshit attack ad w/o a scintilla of merit.
High school clever at best.

Well, for what it’s worth W. and Reagan both actually did serve in the military (the though former’s lax participation in the Texas Air National Guard is well hashed-over grist).

Hey now… Saint Reagan made war movies ya know…

This is the visual equivalent of word salad. Very amateurishly done to boot.

Benghazi was a covert operation and the fellas doing the operations didn’t want the Marine Corps Honor Guard out in front of the consulate every day because then it wouldn’t be covert. Ambassador Stevens was a brave soul, but he had a tendency to get out of his protective bubble in order to mingle with his peeps. ( I’m typing this slowly) The Air Force had planes about 1200 miles away but since Libya IS a sovereign nation the military thought it best not to target the streets of Benghazi. We were not at war with Libya. ( I know, to some it is a distinction without a difference, but we try to keep the planes pointed at military targets. It’s good manners and besides, we have to.)
So when people tell you that Hillary is at fault, just ask them who got killed and what was the Force Protection structure in place a that time. There are specific answers to these questions and if they answer them correctly, then they really shouldn’t be concerned with the who what where and when about Hillary.

Yeah, I thought he was in the Army all through WWII.

Nothing drumphie does it real…he is the proverbial carny barker…no-neck, pursey mouth, ubiquitous, with a badger on his frowning head…

As to this video, what the hell does it do for him…NOTHING…The tv is on permanent mute…just in cade the US media run a loop with the pug on it!,

Reagan basically made movies and did war loan drives. He never served overseas or in combat. Its slightly better than W’s record, but when we have to debate military service at THIS level, its pretty pitiful. Compare to say, a decorated war veteran like John Kerry who volunteered to serve in Vietnam.

And just to be clear on the well hashed over grist…I love using this quote, from W himself, in 1990

“I was not prepared to shoot my eardrum out with a shotgun in order to get a deferment, nor was I willing to go to Canada. So I chose to better myself by learning how to fly airplanes.”

And even after his Daddy got him posted to the champagne Texas Air unit, he STILL got bored, went AWOL and didn’t complete his term of service.
