Oh puh-lease. These types of exercises have been going on for many years. Funny how you did not hear such whining when they were done during the Shrub era. Gee, wonder why?

The problem with a ‘wingnut’ like this is he presumes that the US Army has a plan to attack citizens of the United States, within the United States, and there is likely no convincing him otherwise. “Disconcerting,” yes, to have explosions happening in your town, but that doesn’t mean the government is about to round you up. Go home and clean your guns.

I thought that had already been done?

If this shit keeps up, we’ll have to send them straight to Fallujah for Basic Training on account of these morons. Nothin’ like on the job training.

Because it is not not not the case that it is not the same.

I will agree that the Army did a terrible job of public information, and it would be alarming and disconcerting to find a military exercise going on in an American city, but tying it to ¨Jade Helm¨ does qualify as wing-nuttery.

““How is it not different? How is it not different?” the videographer pressed.” WAAAAAAAAAAA they are attacking Michigan WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, Mommie, Mommie, Mommie…

More than likely the Michigan National Guard doing their annual 2 week and/or weekend training.

Correct, however, will not stop the dipshits for a moment.

As much as I love wingnuts peeing their pants I’m not super jazzed about the military conducting training exercises in public areas. Don’t they have their own buildings and bases they can run around in? Was there live ammunition? What if they run into a couple kids smoking weed in the abandoned school while they’re kicking down doors armed with live rounds?

Depends on where you live, I guess. Around here we have explosions fairly often that rattle our windows 5-10 miles away. I live near a Marine base. The fire department practiced burning down a derelict house a block away last year. Occasionally the Medivac helicopter lands at the park across the street. Sometimes a kid or someone with dementia gets lost and they run the Sheriff’s helicopter and use the megaphone to ask people to look for ____. Who are these wilting flowers who get disconcerted and alarmed?

Give our guys a little more credit than that.

The article said:

The man identified himself as “Mike” with the U.S. Army and said he was securing the area during the training exercise.

I feel confident that the army employed/deployed more than just Mike to “secure the area.” I’m quite sure they gave the building the once over before they started blowing it up, looking for the weed smokers and the homeless. Believe it or not, the military is pretty efficient at dealing with this stuff. Out at Camp Pendleton they have whole pseudo-villages that they use for training, but they’re just shells. Having a real building to train in is probably quite helpful.

Remember Michel Moore’s classic interview with Brian MacDonald in Roger and Me about Flint’s brand new attempt to reinvent itself as a tourism hot spot? Yup…a tourism hot spot!
Brian talks about Flint’s new slogan? “Once again, you’ll see our slogan, “Flint: Our New Spark Will Surprise You,” capturing a lot of enthusiasm, letting people know there are some new and surprising things in the Flint area!”
Poor Brian, he and Flint had been abandoned…but his enthusiasm was remarkable.
Well Sir…Looks like they found that spark at last!

I am always annoyed by anti-government idiots who act like we should think they are heroes risking their lives to expose some grand disregard for the law by the U.S. government; even as they conduct themselves in ways that show they know they are absolutely safe to be assholes because the government does abide by the law. If the U.S. government were the threat this idiot videographer pretends to believe it is, he and his tape would have vanished without a trace yesterday.

Well that would be my military plan as well. High value targets first - Lubbock THEN Flint.

Eh it’s probably fine but it seems like the penalty for error is bigger than behind fences at Camp Pendleton. If these were some milita oath keeper types that ran towards the scene looking for trouble… well then maybe you have milita idiots afterwards…

No. It was a trick question. By asking “How is it NOT different” the cagey questioner was trying to get the unwitting Jade Helm 15 operative to mistakenly say “It’s not. It’s the same” on recorded listening device to be broadcast in the Halls of Morons everywhere.

Yup! Ya’ got to secure the country’s nerve centers and fan out from there.
It’s what Dubya called “strategery.”

The exercises in the southwest and Michigan are just to distract us until they get all the anthrax in place!
