This was exactly my thinking. Expect to see a lot more of this in other departments. Notice the weasel words of the spokesperson, which covered a lot of vague ground.

I’m sure when it turns out that those fired just magically happened to be those most critical of the Trump administration’s efforts to undermine the actual mission of the Interior Department, that will be just an amazing coincidence, and not at all indicative that the firings are a smokescreen to cover for ideological moves.
