Discussion: Yemeni Mom Gets Travel Ban Waiver To See Dying 2-Year-Old Son In US

Just like trump to keep a mom from her dying son.
I am glad she will be able to see him but she should never have had to go to court to get permission.

I am out of descriptive words for how much I hate trump and his administration. He so deserves to be arrested for child abuse.

Please let her get there in time. There isn’t a mother in the world who isn’t in tears.

Lack of empathy, Jailing babies, drawing numbers on their arms… civilized is not a word to use in reference to trump.

Praying for a Christmas miracle that a mother’s voice gives the little guy the will to come back.

Yeah. Sometimes it goes that way. Thinking good thoughts with you.

Yes, but the sadder thing is, there are more out there that won’t have the good press to advocate for them.

Two and older, dying of starvation or bombs.

I have a friend and co-worker who is originally from Aleppo. He emigrated from Syria about 30 years ago and is now a US citizen. His mother survived the siege of Aleppo and escaped to Saudi Arabia. Trump’s travel ban came down as my friend was working on a plan to get his mother to the US so he could care for her here.

She is a 78 year old grandma who is no threat to anyone…and is banned from entering the United States solely because she is Syrian. With any luck, she will outlive the Trump presidency and his travel ban and will get to see her son and grandchildren again.

The child is already on life support. The mother has been trying to get here for months. This just makes my heart ache on one side and explode with fury on the other. This is what the ‘party of family values’ has come to: an abuser of children, destroyer of families, and heartless nest of sociopaths devoid of empathy.

It’s so desperately sad, all the ordinary families that are kept apart by our sadistic administration.

My Iranian colleague just gave birth to her first child. She wanted her mother near, but we’ve decided that grandmothers are a threat to National Security, so my colleague and her husband are on their own. Some family values!

Thank God.

I can’t imagine how horrible it must have been for her, and for her husband to. To have been separated from each other, to have had to leave her behind in the first place, it’s just awful.
