Discussion: Yearbook Prank Lands High Schooler With Felony Charge, 69 Misdemeanors

Police say Osborn admitted to the prank and told them he did it on a
dare. He added that he was disgusted by his actions. Osborn was booked
on a felony count of furnishing harmful items to minors and on 69
misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure.

He was disgusted by his own actions? Then why the hell did you do it in the first place? Oh yes, it was on a dare. Are you 9 or 19? How do people with this level of stupidity, immaturity, and irresponsibility manage to dress themselves in the morning?

Then again, he seems to be prime frat material as well as a certain Trump voter.

He was charged with ā€œ69 misdemeanor countsā€? I thought that was only illegal in North Carolina.

He’s a kid, news flash, they do stupid things. Granted this was a really stupid thing to do, but are we really at a point in this country where we don’t allow kids to make mistakes? Also too, where was the faculty advisor while the Yearbook was being edited. They should be on the lookout for things not right in the photos. Pranking the yearbook isn’t something new.

I would hope a judge would throw this out. The prosecutor wants to destroy this kid’s life over a prank? This is takes asininity to a whole new level; textbook malicious prosecution.

It sounds like the prosecutor suffers from Drumpf-level envy. If nothing else, it helps explain who the ā€œvictimā€ of this heinous crime really is.

Wow! That seems to be a lot of hostility that you have stored up there…

He’s a 19 year old (and STILL a) high school student, poor judgement should be expected. Showing his mushroom tip to his peers shouldn’t result in a criminal record.

And once again the.adage "breaking. a butterfly.on a stone wheel’ is now relevant…again.

Enormous ego…cock obsessed…disgusting behavior…insincere apology (ā€œI’m disgusted at what I did.ā€ Trans: ā€˜I got caught.’")

Future Republican presidential candidate? Nahhh…teenager stupid!
Still…excessive reaction. C’mon…even Judge Judy would scold him, throw him some shade and give him some community service.

Well hes likely. A HS football star.

That’s what I want to know why didn’t the yearbook editors catch it in the first place?

Honestly, I don’t think I could survive High School now.

The school district says the yearbook has been recalled

Sadly, all students reported ā€œlosingā€ the copies they were given.

Why don’t we get to see the photo in question?

I had so many friends who did similar things in high school. Showing my immaturity, I actually found the description of the prank to be humorous. Teenage boys do this sort of stuff. Hell, I did it.

Edit: Back when I did it, I also got caught. However, I received 2 in-school suspensions back then. Criminal charges were never remotely considered. Times have indeed changed.
