Discussion: WSJ: Mueller Issued Subpoena To Trump Campaign Members In October

Not a lawyer? Well, it was obviously well written by a person who has sat in on his share of civil procedure classes. If you took the final you would’ve passed!

The conversation went something like this:
"What? A subpoena? For what? You’re investigating what? During what time period? With whom? "(of course they said “with who,” but…you know) “I thought we weren’t under investigation. Everyone is saying that it’s Hillary who should be under investigation…is this really about her?”

Relatedly…

Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak said on Wednesday that it would take him more than 20 minutes to name all of the Trump officials he’s met with or spoken to on the phone.

“First, I’m never going to do that,” he said. "And second, the list is so long that I’m not going to be able to go through it in 20 minutes."

Well so he’s saying he met every Peehead official.

In the interview, which a Russian media expert said resembled “late night American television,” he also joked about American investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, called U.S. President Donald Trump “witty,” and said that U.S.-Russian relations were worse than at any point since the end of the Cold War.

LMAO.

Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., asked Sessions on Tuesday how long his September meeting with Kislyak was.

“I doubt it was 50 minutes, but it may have been,” Sessions said.

Asked whether Sessions was telling the truth, Kislyak demurred.

“I will tell you that in not one meeting, not with Sessions, not with anyone else, did we use any kinds of techniques or arguments that I would not be able to speak about publicly,” Kislyak said.

Well, well, well.

George Mason University professor Eric Shiraev, who has written about Russia, international relations and political psychology, said Kislyak deliberately “made a mistake” by suggesting that American officials got in trouble for meeting with Russians, not for failing to disclose those meetings.

“It became almost comical,” Shiraev said, noting that the audience was laughing throughout the taping. “He gave the impression that only because he met the American officials they got in trouble.”

Yeah {: chuckling ape here :}

Clearly the Putin mobsters are playing their favorite game and the fuckin’ moron is being totally played.

I’ll be delighted to spare 20 minutes.

So will Mr. Mueller.

Well, he’s half right.

Snakes & Bladders?

I listened to a Lawfare podcast last night that was recorded on Friday (I think) about Flynn and it was interesting to hear the legal experts discuss the legal significance of the allegations regarding Flynn in connection with Turkey.

Will check it out, thanks for the pointer.

I’ve stopped listening to the radio in the car – I generally listen to podcasts, including Rachel Maddow, Preet Baraha, David Axelrod, and the Daily from the New York TImes.

According to the report, the subpoena was a surprise to Trump’s campaign,

If this is an accurate depiction of the actual reaction of Trump campaign orcs, then they’re more impossibly fucking stupid than I already thought they were. A not-very-precocious 6th grader could have seen the subpoenas coming from a mile away before Mueller had time to sharpen his investigation pencils.

This Turkish guy is probably singing like a bird to the feds about Flynn, which then gives Mueller even more leverage over Flynn to spill his guts about collusion with Russia. I’m not an attorney but I’ve spent years watching “Law & Order,” and the typical scenario would have Mueller & Co file charges against Flynn’s son in order to put pressure on Flynn himself.

So you’re thoroughly qualified to render an opinion, LOL.

I want to see both Flynn and that arrogant prick of a son that he has both rot in jail. Flynn may be facing conspiracy to kidnap, which is a significant crime. He also may be facing state crimes that would not be pardonable by Donnie Dumbfuck.

Felix Sater

I’m amazed that Sater is still alive. If I read tomorrow morning that he was discovered in his car in a deserted parking structure with a bullet hole behind his ear I would not be remotely surprised.

I second that… And… Within the past couple weeks the NBC News android app (might be on IOS too) started giving us a LIVE audio feed for MSNBC. Gives me the ability to listen to way too much political news when I am working or in the car.

Well, I wouldn’t be surprised either if the guy has been under witness protection…

Thank you for that – I will have to check it out. I have the MSNBC app on my phone but haven’t figured it out.

I essentially turned off my radio in my car on Election Night 2016.

This is a story of major importance and is deserving of front page coverage. Josh has something on his edblog about it. This is really bad.

You keep that up, and the headliner won’t want to follow you on the stage anymore.
