Ultimately, loyalty means nothing to Trump.
When a so-called “exec” demands loyalty, you know you’re dealing with a loser. Get away. Fast!

Did Mueller vanish so quickly from (Drumpf’s) thought?
Even more hilarous than the statement itself, is that we have another person running on their “uber-competent businessman here!” who seems to have not noticed the rush from big tobacco all over the world to plunk down billions for weed.
One analysis I read recently (might have been in the NYT,?) said that the way the laws and precedents would apply to a National Emergency, would mean each individual soldier would be criminally liable if they responded. Not just the higher-ups. Every soldier with a shovel would be committing a Federal crime.
That might have been regular Army, not sure if it applies to the Corps of Engineers who regularly work on civilian-facing projects. Trump won’t know the difference though. He thinks it’s “his” army, “his” generals.
This is where the WH no longer just leans into a tendency towards “Authoritarianism Lite,” but goes full Dictatorship, right out in the open for everyone to see. A fake crisis for political advantage, using the military as a shield.
Though he likely did, I’m just waiting for Bloomberg to use the ‘think of the children’ defense about this.
Michelle: "When they go low, we go high
Drumpf: “They they go high, we go to pieces”
I see this comment a lot. I wonder how many members of Congress (other than the younger new members) would be inconvenienced in the slightest by lack of pay.
They are making millions not from their dalary but all the insider trading and other mechanisms of paying off a legislator.
Would Trump Shut Down The Government Again? Chief Of Staff Says ‘Um, Yeah!’
Because the only thing this maladministration is really good at is repeatedly and relentlessly doubling down on STOOOPID. It’s what they are. It’s what they do. Woefully incompetent.
If Donnie were to go through with his bluff and shut down the government again, the TSA and air traffic controllers would sick out immediately. They know how this story goes, know the power they have, and are not going to let themselves be used as hostages again.
I would add cancelling their health insurance. Not suspending but cancelling until nexr year’s scheduled enrollment period and then charge them a penalty just for fun and spite. I’d bet that some irate spouses looking after their children would add some pressure on Congressionals. Far more impressive than suspending payroll for these mostly wealthy folk.
Would Trump Shut Down The Government Again? Chief Of Staff Says ‘Um, Yeah!’
So, now you’re admitting that Trump did indeed shut down the gov’t in the first place. Goddamn, it’s so hard to keep up.
Now that is the sort of creative mindset I like.
Not sure that I agree with the specific proposal, but in general, looking for their ‘pain’ points is what any legislation would need.
Going after a multi-millionaire’s paycheck of a measly $170K just doesn’t cut it (and causes real pain to the AOCs who don’t actually have the backing to deal with it, thus making the whole exercise pointless, as it puts the pain where it doesn’t belong)
“Once burned, twice … um … burned?”
“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on, shame on you again.”
–The President previously known as the stupidest person on the face of the fucking planet. Until this one.
Mulveney’s comments just drive home the point that the shutdown was not about a wall. It was about Dumpsterfire trying to prove that he’s in charge; and for all of the ghouls working behind the scene, it was about shrinking the government and privatizing everything that wasn’t open.
jealousy … is a powerful motivator …

“Would the president stick his tongue in a light socket?”
umm…yeah
nice and to the point. please take the time to write the above to the mainstream news outlets of your choice. they need to know people care
