You know, I feel bad for the kid and all, but these stupid fucking gun bearing adults deserve everything that happens to them. My god, what an idiot.
People who believe they need a gun to keep them safe from the boojums and bogiemen and Others evaluate every sensory input that is a bit out of the ordinary through that filter. Subconsciously, they’re always monitoring their surroundings, questioning whether this thing that just happened is the one that validates their deep-seated belief that they need a gun to keep them safe.
And here’s your result. Hear a sound in the night? This is it! I always knew this day would come! Blamo!
She needs to be charged with negligent firearm discharge, and attempted involuntary manslaughter. 12-18 months in the slammer is a fair punishment
Life is tough, kid. You gotta learn to roll with the bullets.
She placed a chair against the door of the bedroom in which they were sleeping for protection,
These are the typo of wackos we have carrying around such deadly weapons.
Any mentally unstable person can own a gun.
People who desire to buy/own guns should first get a few mental evaluations before they are allowed to.
I wonder how many of these types of incidents there are versus the number of people that actually encounter a home invasion. Seriously, are there as many intruders shot on an annual basis as there are accidents? I have no statistics to back it up, but I suspect that the number of “accidents” exceed the instances of shootings of burglars.
The NRA dupes another into bringing a murdering tool into a home, and now a 7-year-old is in critical condition.
Hint:
No one is coming to get you. The monster is already in the house, thanks to you.
And her guns (I assume she has a trove) taken away permanently.
After barring the door with a chair, how were the kids supposed to get up and use the potty if they wanted to?
There’s probably more to the story.
So every year when Grandma gets the annual picture for her mantle, it should be taken without his shirt on.
No warning shot? Just more proof that Florida is uncivilized.
Is the gun OK? Did she get it back to protect herself from the other grandkid for tonight? What did dad have to say about this?
The paranoia is deep in this one.
To a hammer, everything is a nail.
To a gun owner, every bump in the night is a murderous intruder.
That’s a better way of saying what I said. So I’m probably going to have to steal it next time.
This TRAGEdy could HAVe beEN avERTED had this boY beeN ARMEd. LIBRULS cULTure OF DEath waNT KIDs to DiE!!!1!!!one!!!1!!!
Sad. Please everyone who sleeps with a gun - RULE #1 - engage brain prior to shooting. Because children never get up in the middle night - sigh.
I know it’s a “risky” thing to do but a “Who’s there?” might have averted this tragedy.
From a study in 2004 (there would be a lot more data but the GOP has banned the government from collecting data that hurts gun sales)
“Simply put: for every time a gun in or around the home was used in self-defense, or in a legally justified shooting, there were four unintentional shootings, seven criminal assaults or homicides, and 11 attempted or completed suicides.”
Also those with a gun are more likely to end up being killed by someone else as well.
Well, I’m assuming the chair was on the inside of the door; otherwise, the intruder would have been able to remove the chair to get into the room, yes? But I guess they must have been sleeping in the same room with her; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to leave the room after barring the door with the chair. But why would she have thought a burglar was moving the chair from the inside of the room? Except that I guess she pulled the trigger before thinking.
Warning shots will get you put in jail in Florida. Just ask Marissa Alexander. Then again, if this was a white grandmother, maybe not.
