This is nothing a tax cut for 100-foot-plus yacht owners couldn’t fix.
Perhaps something could be done if Donny was told that he couldnt play with his favorite toys at Christmas . Mind , hed have a yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge tantrum .
If the CR really does end up as a bare-bones effort (as is looking likely), then it will be missing one other interesting item: the pay-go waiver for the tax cut bill.
Without that, there should be headlines on Dec 31 about all of the spending cuts that are automatically going to kick in Jan 1 — cuts to Medicare and many other government programs.
(Personally, I kinda wish the Dems wouldn’t go along with the pay-go waiver at all. The GOP likes to hand out candy and then pretend later that the resulting cavities have nothing to do with them. Refusing this time to separate the consequences from the actions might open some eyes.)
ETA: The pay-go waiver got stuffed into the CR after all. And it’s been voted through, so no pay-go cuts comes Jan 1.
Agreed. I’d like them to have to explain that everyone just has to wait until all that new wealth starts trickling down.
Hey maybe they are working on Collins’ provisions to the health bill…ha ha ha…
