Spot on. Hilarious.
I reside in NYC and we made it through the 92 LA riots quite fine. Some businesses closed early and there were orderly protests in Union Sq.
You all are right, I guess 23 years ago I was in the midst of full time working and raising my kids and totally tune deaf to the political ramifications of what was going on. I remember the riots, but donāt live in California and probably didnāt get home from work to have the luxury of watching the news and I am sure I didnāt get to the paper either. Not that it justifies the ignorance of current events, but I do think there are many now and at all times that have to keep their heads above water and let some of the seriousness of the issues slide by, especially since I am white and middle class and havenāt experienced that kind of violence. Now that I am retired and have time to listen, read and try to understand the motivations behind the violence it is pretty over whelming and discouraging.
It still rests on the shoulders of the media to mediate and ethically report the events rather than what we have now, corporate monopolies working for profit not the truth. Our fourth estate has become an vacant lot littered with debris.
