Discussion: Will Pelosi Open The Floor To Bipartisan Ideas?

Yes, it’s the same reason why the Federal Debt or the annual budget deficit are never issues when Republican’ts are running the show…

What gets me is that these same people will then go on to write articles and bloviate about the inherent misogyny and ageism in politics without the least bit of self-awareness, or without their internal irony alert system going off on full blast.

Thank You,
FUCK
REPUBLICANS

The Republicans really don’t give a shit about bipartisanship, or only as another tool to get what they want, and Speaker Pelosi knows that only too well.

In this case, I don’t see the ProPublica piece as a pundit piece, but seriously looking at the environment and players in the new House that Speaker Pelosi will have to contend with. With a shifting electoral landscape in 2020 making Republicans more vulnerable at a time when the left is gaining energy again (I hope), I think it puts a lot of Rs in the place the Blue Dogs were in 2009… desperately play ball or be voted out in the next election.

Yes! My thoughts exactly. Sooo funny because Senator McConnell wrote an article hoping the Democrats would be bipartsan. The audacity is stunning. Simply stunning.

The best I can tell when Republicans ask for bipartisanship they mean YOU on the other side will vote for what we want, and WE won’t even hold a vote on anything you want…

Perfect.

But is Pelosi’s policy likable?

I was fascinated by the article apparently lamenting that a whole 50 republicans had to vote with democrats to prevent something that only a tiny rump of the house wanted.

Idiotic headline. Eye candy for navel gazers.

His projection is as transparent as his lies. tRump and McConnell have that in common, though McConnell’s lies are aimed at being strategic…it rarely hits its mark. I’ve watched the media let McConnell skate way too often over the last two years, never demanding he come on any show where he can truly be questioned and scrutinized. Like tRump he only goes on friendly rightwing media like Faux. His quick press availability in front of the microphones is where he generally takes no questions and is surrounded by the same bullshitters as himself that merely repeat whatever lie he’s told like an echo chamber.

What’s R is R. What’s D is negotiable.

Screw that. I think Speaker Pelosi can recognize genuine cooperation if the R’s decide to participate in government again.

Pundits must have their digs against Dems. There’d be even more drama asking Mitch what the heck he thought he was doing preventing a Senate vote on a bill they had already passed at 100 to zip.

Democrats have to be bipartisan, Republicans can go right on being treasonous assholes.

Why should she?

It is quite remarkable that whenever Dems hold power “bipartisanship” becomes the word de jour.

I don’t remember anyone asking if Paul Ryan would be “open to bipartisan ideas”. If the Democrats can’t shuck the MSM knee-jerk take on them they’re doomed. You can bet it’s coming too. Has anyone asked if the GOP’s going to give the slightest consideration to bipartisanship? No.

And any absence of it entirely their fault.

Shorter ProPublica blogger: “Will Pelosi reject the emotionalism and hysteria that is the hallmark of the weaker sex?”

Two days into the new year and already the Media Whore bullshit remains the same.

Most of y’all will not like this, but I am tired of Congress playing head-butting football instead of doing their job.

If we are going to restore the Republic, we have to start somewhere.

And if we don’t, we might as well admit that democracy in America is over, haul out the long knives and get to work.

Check out the utter bullshit MSNBC just pitched at Warren if you want to see some good ole fashioned Media Whores Online.

are you suggesting that nailing their asses to the wall is all they should emphasize for the next 2 years? they can and need to do the business of the country, comprehensive immigration (and daca), environmental protection, voting protection (and citizen’s united reversal), etc. that will show the way forward. and, yes the gops are a bunch of dickwads and many are going down. doing what is right AND what is necessary are not incompatible.
