Discussion: WikiLeaks Deletes Twitter Poll Asking Users To Diagnose Hillary Clinton

One hopes you were making a joke.

If not, then you might need to re-think.

WikiLeaks is showing its true colors, hiding the info about Russia and now showing its Clinton hate. They’re not the “get the info out” folks they claimed to be.

I know Poe’s Law is a thing, but c’mon… :smirk:

Assange and other members of the anti-establishment Alt-Left have focused all their hatred on Hillary. Their obsession has caused them to lose perspective to the point they find themselves, possibly without realizing or caring, standing shoulder to shoulder with racists and people like Martin Shkreli.

< Snark? >

The only positive thing about Russian backing is that Putin is so used to being able to rule by diktat and strong arming that he and his apparatus seem singularly inept at anything requiring finesse or acumen or subtlety. Hence, this kind of idiotic publicity stunt. Basically, Wikileaks’ puppet strings might as well be made out of steel cables thick enough to hold up a suspension bridge. Not fooling anyone, fellas.

Disinformation wants to be free.

Yep. This is why George Orwell opposed ‘negative nationalists’ just as much as ‘nationalists.’

WikiLeaks loses cred with crap like this. If you’re committed to revealing actual conspiracies and speaking truth to power with facts, then don’t encourage people to spin ignorant conspiracy theories. Assange is losing it.

Finally the “Robin Hood” facade has come crumbling down and the actual motivations of this “nobly gray” institution are there in black and white. Ironically holding back documents that do not befit their agenda- just another radical right outlet.

Who is a rapist.

Seems the entire twitter feed for Putin’s wikileaks is dedicated to attacking Clinton and Obama.

I agree with you and it is the main reason I am not a Prime member. Everyone deserves some personal or family time, but news (even if just political news) doesn’t stop on the week end. [and I work in an area that demands evening and week end commitment, so I understand the sacrifice]

It is a simple transaction. Assange wants the British government to rescind the court order extraditing him to Sweden on rape charges. He wants the US government to drop its grand jury proceedings investigating him for espionage.

Unless the Obama administration makes these things happen, Assange will try to blackmail Hilary with hacked emails. It does not matter if the emails actually contain anything damaging because the press will dutifully report that Assange has released more emails. It will be more of the slow drip-drip-drip.

At this point Assange knows that he is not going to get what he wants so what he is doing now is just retaliation.

My guess is that Twitter forced WikiLeaks to delete the poll, not the other way around. Twitter has been bashed, pretty much on a daily basis, for the violent, misogynist, homophobic, racist memes that it appears to support. Perhaps getting in bed with WikiLeaks (which appears to be in bed with Vladimir Putin) actually was a bridge too far.

Then again, maybe not.

Very well said – especially the steel cables. Good observation about Putin not really understanding finesse here.

All one ever had to do, was to look at Sanders’ actual record in office to see that he is a complete fraud as an actual progressive, while claiming that he was too principled to vote for any legislation that actually helped people. Meanwhile, his campaign demonstrated that he is an ill-tempered, unprepared, self-serving, entitled narcissist, willing to risk the Presidency falling to Trump, if it allowed him to indulge in the high he was getting off all that millennial and overage hippie adoration. The Sanders phenomenon was convincing proof that those on the left are every bit as willfully blind as those on the right.

JM also refuses to allow comments when he pontificates.

Actually it’s main server is in Sweden, arguably close but not quite…

Thanks for that information. I could have sworn I read a little while back (within the past year?) their servers are in Russia. My bad – but thanks.
