Hmmmm…am I sad about this???
Naaaaah!
Not to worry, Trump knows how to “make a fortune off of debt,” or so he says. I smell a bankruptcy coming.
Trump’s just such a political hot mess, you can’t really tell if this is some sort of performance art, a parody, some weird (crappy) movie we’re watching, or if it’s actually for real.
I guess we might be missing something and this could all turn into a nightmare come November (i.e. Trump wins). But until the time where we can finally tell things whether we were right and we’re winning (probably big!), or we were wrong and things are going to hell in a hand basket, I’ve decided I’m going to enjoy the heck out of this thing!!!
The schadenfreude towards the disgusting, xenophobic, bigoted, misogynistic, intolerant, racist, non-empathetic, and pathetic mess the Republican Party has become and what Donald Trump is amazing!
I am wondering when Trump will threaten to sue the RNC. On what grounds I don’t know—but when did that stop Trump before?
“My sense is that it is like an epic disaster that is going to get worse," said Rob Jesmer
Yes, and we will watching, through our tears, of laughter.
I suspect that many big-moneyed traditional Republican donors will still cough up a decent chunk of change, but will do so through PACs and many Senate and Congressional races instead of directly to Trump or the RNC. Their strategy being: While dodging a bullet on the White House (their version of a lesser evil), they’ll at least try to hold Hillary’s feet as close to the GOP fire as possible.
Well, yeah. Whatever it is they’re doing (or not) is “illegal.”
He’ll probably sue to try to collect on any money he spent on the race. And defamation/loss of value to his “brand”.
Just how it’s the RNC’s fault will be in the TBD category. The important part (to Trump) is that it’s absolutely, definitely, positively, NEVER Trump’s fault. Because Trump doesn’t lose.
Ok, I agree with your analysis. Next question, does he threaten to sue before or after the convention?
Hmmm … I could go either way on that. If he decides to sue before the convention, the thinking would be “They aren’t doing their fair and rightful share – their obligation, Your Honor! I can win this, I can be your next President, Judge Rodriguez, if Reince would just do his job!” If after, “They fucked up the whole campaign, Your Honor. Reince is a terrible person, Judge Rodriguez, a liar ever I did know one, a terrible person. I would be your President right now if Reince weren’t such a bad human being. Reince is such a bad, horrible person … bad, just bad human being.”
Now, once he loses said litigation, “The judge was Mexican and hated me. Judge Rodriguez (who was born in Oklahoma City, OK) is from Tijuana (because he once visited the area), the whoriest and dirtiest of the Mexican slum cities, just whorey, very dirty.”
If Trump doesn’t like asking donors for campaign money, perhaps he could enter into a business deal with them. Then he could screw them over and get their money that way. He’d like that.
“My sense is that it is like an epic disaster that is going to get worse,”
Could these lyrics be set to the tune of the Schadenfreude Rag?
I can’t tell if this is more of a Gilbert & Sullivan thing or a Rodgers and Hammerstein one.
Lol I think he’s going to try very hard to behave before the convention. I suspect he’ll avoid saying the truly outlandish stuff as best he can, much like a kid in the days before Christmas. But as soon as he’s got the nomination in hand, all bets are off. I’d bet he’ll be even more offensive, more abrasive, nasty and outlandish because there’ll be nothing anyone can do to try to stop him. He’ll probably even lash out asst those who previously tried to put a lid on him. It’ll get very ugly and the GOP will be helpless to stop him.
A GOP operative working on key Senate battleground races said the Republican candidates could definitely have benefited from certain aspects of Trump’s message and energy, but Trump undermined his own success by being a disappointing fundraiser.
“There are parts about his message that are attractive to disenfranchised voters," the operative said. “The organization he built to capitalize on that message is nowhere near ready for primetime.”
Um, Mr. Operative, the fundraising is only one aspect of the problem. The more effectively Trump broadcasts his message, the more disenfranchised voters he attracts. And the more mainstream voters he repels. So, get the message out, and take 30% of the popular vote, or keep the message quiet, and maybe eek out 40%?
Either way, Trump is a burning tire around the necks of the Republican House and Senate candidates.
Trump is the ultimate made by TV for TV candidate. He has been shamelessly produced and promoted by all of the networks. Now he is in a real election against a motivated group of professionals. My fear is he can win. That will signal that we have stopped being citizens. We are simply viewers.
I’d argue their platform or lack there of spells disaster, but whatever.
The only rat I know who tries to board the sinking ship, is Carly Fiorina. Trump called her ugly.
I can’t separate Trump’s own shortcomings from the GOP’s failures to demonstrate that its core beliefs are viable enough to survive the test of time.
Apparently, his own money is going toward lining his own pocket:
This will not play well with the general voting public. Hillary’s ad team, though, will have a field day exposing Trump for what he is – a failed fraud.
