I’d chalk it up to their simplistic, binary worldview, which invites no nuance or introspection and views any deviation from the lockstep party line as a sign of weakness and/or treason.
But, as the first poster notes, it also could be because Benghazi.

I don’t know much about Piers Morgan but the fact is;
Conservos can’t wrap their head around the fact that it’s okay for Liberal types to not be in lock-step with each other.

It’s okay for Dems and liberal people to criticize the Prez or Dem politicians and stay ‘in the club’. The thing is, that just doesn’t happen on the Conservative side. You are in lock-step or you’re a pariah on the right - and any other way is baffling to them.

So when a Lib-leaning person criticizes the Prez, righties think it means a total defection instead of, ya know, a general normal discussion… or, perhaps in Morgan’s case, a silly publicity grab.

It’s fascinating how people from other countries just take it for granted that the U.S. will just pimp it military for the asking. Daesh isn’t an immediate treat to the U.S. (I thank him for his CONsern)… if he feels it is a present treat to the U.K. then they should join the Iraqis and Kurds on the ground in Iraq.
