Discussion: Why Did Mike Flynn Bother To Lie To The FBI?

Word.

Why anyone wastes any time at all worrying about Trump voters and why anyone wastes bandwidth lamenting over them completely puzzles me.

We don’t need them; they are not new; they are a minority within a minority.

Fuck Trump Voters.

I’d say they are NOT close at all!

The Senate bill guts the healthcare mandate and the House version does not. They contain two very different tax rate levels as well, which is a very big deal. I’m not sure they can do it without losing votes they really don’t have to spare.

Assuming facts not in evidence, lol.

Giuliani is a total loon, he doesn’t have the smarts to avoid this shit show!

From cnn.com:

Is Trump worried about what Flynn might say? 'No, I’m not’

He should be.

As for the tax bill…
Now that the senate and House versions are going to conference to iron out the differences… praps the Senators will have some time to actually read what they voted on and passed since the bill wasn’t even printed when they voted on it.

I think he should worry about what he’s SAID, not what he might say.

Now one post-Flynn day into the rolling average.

Now if the media immeidately stop framing this national tragedy of massive tax scam as a “huge win” for The Moron and The McTortoise, Flynn’s guilty plea multiplied by the scam should push up his disapproval even higher.

This.
I didn’t think high-twenties disapproval was possible, but hmmmm…

Yes. The Kumquat ordered the lie!
(I just had to sneak that new insult in.)

A new record! Not sure even the fluffiest Rasmussen fluffers can fix that!

I first want to see low-60ies low-30ies ratings sustained for long enough to become a new baseline… that would be big, as till recently the norm has been mostly high 50ies and high 30ies. Once the new baseline established, we can go from there for 2018, while more keeps coming on the Russia investigation front, and people are increasingly informed about how adversely the tax scam affects their lives.

Damn. We knew 2018 is critical, but not a single day goes by without the stake getting higher… :persevere:

FBI NYFO has been mobbed-up for decades. Giuliani facilitated.

If they were bright they wouldn’t be making the dumb mistakes the Trump gang has been making. The scary thing is to imagine how vulnerable we might be to intelligent villains.

Perhaps they can be charged with espionage? Conspiring with the Russians to undermine our democracy?

I keep pounding this drum, so everyone’s probably tired of my saying it but here’s the deal: The attack by Russia on our election was “Casus Belli”, but one doesn’t actually declare War on a former super-power that has a nuclear arsenal. Instead, what you do is apply sanctions… which we’ve done. Donnie’s behavior absolutely, positively amounts to aiding and abetting an enemy state during a time of war. If a court agrees with me, and if a sufficiently strong rope can be found, then he should be hung for treason during war time.

Here’s Orrin Hatch complaining during the tax cut debate (cost=$1.5 trillion) that the US doesn’t have the money for CHIP (cost=$15 billion) …

This is the Trump’s Razor explanation, so it’s probably correct.

It’s going to be quite something if all these guys get jailed/impeached for lying to the FBI, perjury, and obstruction of justice, and it turns out that they technically didn’t do anything illegal as part of the campaign (though of course there’s all the financial crimes that are the whole reason Russia is supporting them).

Isn’t Mueller taking a very close look at Jared Kushner over this very issue of a quid pro quo with Russia re: West Bank settlements?

I miss my kumquat tree; it died in the torrid heat of a Texas summer. That said, it did produce small orange fruit with very thin skin and an extremely dense pit.

it seems to me that it would be reasonable to communicate with a foreign government by an incoming admin., in the context of ‘inviting someone to a ceremony, etc…but it would be done thro’ the proper channels…ie; the STATE DEPATMENT or whatever office/agency does these things, publicly…a clandestine communication with a foreign GOVERNMENT would always be suspect???

Yes, small. That was my point. That makes it Trump sized.
