Discussion: White Supremacist Leader Spencer: Trump's Condemnation Isn't Serious

Itā€™s not serious, and I donā€™t think anyone takes it seriously, including the President,ā€

Trump: I knew that my supporters are very very smart.

I can agree with that statement but nothing else.

Wouldnā€™t you just love to wipe that smarmy grin off his faceā€¦??

For the first and last time, I agree with Richard Spencer. At least he is honest enough to say what we all know to be the truth. The Vulgar Talking Yam*? Not so much.

*h/t Charles Pierce for the nickname.

When he says Trump himself didnā€™t believe what he said when he finally condemned the hate groups by name days too late, heā€™s not wrong (for once).

So tired of all this winning.

This is like watching the storm troopers (SA) and the SS fight. You donā€™t know who to root for, you just hope the battle is costly to both sides.

But people like Spencer are going to force Trump to come after them, and when itā€™s them or him, he will. In a very nasty way.

Fake president, fake condemnation.

ā€œAnd only a dumb person would take those lines seriously."

It seems David Duke took the comments seriously.

No, duh, Spencer. That so-called ā€œcondemnationā€ had to be wrenched out of him practically at gunpoint, and he clearly was very angry at having been made to do it at all. After all, he was forced to condemn his own beliefs, and that had to smart.

Gee, ya think?

Donaldā€™s being sincere when he lashes out at someone whoā€™s said something negative about him. You can believe that stuff. Almost none of the rest rings true; it tends more to be laughably obvious pandering.

David Duke is in end stage dementia. Your catā€™s opinions are more cogent.

Imagine staring down that mug in the mirror every morning and then proclaiming it is part of a superior race.

Hard to imagine, isnā€™t it?

Trumpā€™s reaction to criticism over the way he deals with the alt-right parallels his reactions to criticism over dealings with Russia and Putin. A lack of condemnation followed by insincere condemnation followed by actions that are tacitly supportive of those he supposedly just condemned.
