Discussion: White House: Trump Was Just Saying 'No' To More Questions, Not Russia Threat!

I’m wondering how they get up in the morning without hurting themselves, frankly.

Two big whoppers in here:

First, Sanders walking back, instead of doubling down, Trump’s assertion that Russia is not interfering in the 2018 elections.

Second, the idea that Trump and Putin talked about Putin detaining and questioning Browder and McFaul (both of whom would surely end up in a Gulag and dead) for no reason other than to fulfill Putin’s lawless desire for revenge. It’s crazy that it was discussed. It’s even crazier that Trump has entertained the idea.

There are now 4 separate bases of impeachment that Trump has created over the past month.

That would require that they remember the previous lies.

Who ever thought you’d need an interpreter for an American President when he was speaking in English?

No one believes you.

No one.

Trump is so desperate to dig himself into that hole, the next few weeks we’re going to see repeats of this kind of press conference over and over.

I think we’re gonna see some resignations. I do!

Please - that’s what amateurs do. If you can’t come up with 16 mutually exclusive lies in 48 hours, you don’t have the skills the White House needs.

Like throwing up a little in our mouths every time someone at the WH says something?

Not totally clear, but immediately after he starts answering questions, so maybe he didn’t really want to say no to questions…

Good, then I never have to worry about their headhunters coming after me, looking for me to fill a position.

I don’t think they can. They’re so used to Trump’s behavior being excused by his base they actually don’t have a way out of behaviors that aren’t going to be excused by the base. Trump isn’t going to stop, either.

Believing lies is a deterrent to stable mental health. Hopelessness sets in and you have the perfect mixture for what those states are experiencing.

Wha Whaaaaaaaaaat?

Hallie Jackson (NBC) actually asked a pointed question (phrased a bit diplomatically). She said something like, “If the President has had to explain/correct himself on two major policy statements within the past 24 hours, how do we know when to believe what he is actually saying?” No answer from Sarah, of course.
