As for Melania’s caps during the tour, I love them in a horrible way. First the FLOTUS cap then I saw her with a TEXAS cap. I personally, am looking forward to future caps like: FLORIDA, FLOODED, CROCODILES!
I’m sure they’ll come up with crap I just would never had imagined. Otherwise, I just don’t care about her.
On the kids version it’s “Florida: America’s pee-pee”.

It makes my angry when politicians (Rick Scott, Trump, etc.) talk about how “they’ll all hold hands and fix everything.” General Honore (of Katrina notoriety) was interviewed last night and he spoke about how the human condition will deteriorate in Florida and the Caribbean over the next few days. People have no power in the heat, no water, they’re tired and dirty, and there’s no cell phone service in many places so they can’t find out if they’ll have a home or job to return to. In the Virgin Islands, they’re under a very restrictive curfew so, in the few hours when they’re allowed to venture out, the crowds at gas stations and places that may have food are horrible. Honore said there will inevitably be some violence and ugliness - and then folks will condemn the victims as bad people. Donald Trump won’t empathize with any of this misery.

I’m sure the victims of those horrible experiencecould use some comic relief at this point. They can’t expect anything else from Trump who cut the budget for the Coast Guard before these disasters.

When the Florida Governor put out the call for volunteers to work with those with special needs even before this latest hurricane struck, he was looking to the long term as well.
There are so many elderly residents in Florida who are not going to be able to cope with all the uncertainty in the coming months without experiencing major health problems.
This crisis is going to become a major mental health crisis for the most vulnerable which will work against their physical ailments as well. This truly is a disaster unlike any this country has ever had before. Multiply it by 50 states as the Baby Boomers age and global warming continues to play havoc on our communities.
And Trump wants to repeal ObamaCare, cut Medicaid and stab Medicare in the back? Are we just going to kick the chronically sick to the gutter like we are the Dreamers and transgenders? Trump’s NeoNazis supporters must be in 7th heaven.
Hubert Humphrey once said that a society is judged by how they treat their old and young, sick and poor.
