Actually, what Moore did was fine for this reason.
A long time ago there were these two people named Mary and Joseph. Mary was merely a teenager, while Joseph was an adult. The two got married while Mary was pregnant, but thankfully she was still a virgin. So the couple probably didn’t have sex on their honeymoon. Mary later gave birth to the child who wasn’t Joseph’s son. She did this in a barn surrounded by animals on her way to participate in a census.
Mary and Joseph did eventually have sex, because later it was reported that Jesus had brothers. Or I suppose they would technically have been step-brothers, since they were from a different father. But Mary and Joseph did eventually have sexual intercourse which produced children, which is fine because they were a happily married couple despite their age difference.
And that’s why it’s perfectly okay for a grown man to molest multiple teenage girls multiple times in Alabama.

Maddow had some veteran Alabama reporter on last night who apparently has been right in all his past predictions about local scandals. He said absolutely no way is Moore going to withdraw and that this won’t change anything as far as his numbers are concerned–might even fire up the base. For me it’s the same surreal experience as in 2016. I simply don’t recognize this country.
