Discussion: White House Official Resigns Following Allegations Of Domestic Abuse

“These outrageous allegations are simply false. I took the photos given to the media nearly 15 years ago and the reality behind them is nowhere close to what is being described. I have been transparent and truthful about these vile claims, but I will not further engage publicly with a coordinated smear campaign,” Porter said.

I’m trying to decipher this…
“The allegations of abuse are false. However, I took a picture of the black eye I gave wife #1 which is real, but not as real as what is being described. Besides, that was 15 years ago. Since then I realized it’s not a good idea to take pictures of the effects of the physical abuse I inflict on women. However, I deny everything in my continuing effort to be truthful and transparent about my vile actions. Furthermore, I really don’t want to talk about this anymore.”

If General ‘jackass’ Kelly endorses this guy, that speaks volumes about both of their characters.

“These outrageous allegations are simply false.” But I’m resigning anyway.

See, Rob? If you had sat on your hands like one of those “treasonous” Democrats instead of beating your wife with your fists like a Republican, you’d still have a fucking job.

Shorter Porter: They were begging for it, and I gave in.

“It’s incredibly discouraging to see such a vile attack on such a decent man. Shame on any publication that would print this—and shame on the politically motivated, morally bankrupt character assassins that would attempt to sully a man’s good name,” Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Porter’s former boss, said in a statement circulated by the White House.

“So are the women lying about him?”

“I know Rob. I’ve known him for years, both as a close friend and as a personal advisor. He is kind and considerate towards all. The country needs more honest, principled people like Rob Porter, which is why I hope that this cynical campaign to discredit his character ultimately fails.”

Unless Hatch is sleeping with Porter, this testimonial is irrelevant.

Kelly urged Porter to stay in his position at the White House after the allegations became public, according to reports from the Washington Post and Axios.

Both of Porter’s ex-wives told the Intercept that they told the FBI that Porter abused them in interviews for his security clearance.

Headlines should read:

White House and Republicans protect serial abuser

Following the FBI background check, the WH and Hatch must have known of this guy’s abusive history, yet they not only kept silent, but defended a criminal.

Porter likely lied to the FBI too.

“My commitment to public service speaks for itself. I have always put duty to country first and treated others with respect. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served in the Trump Administration

Sorry, Rob. Those things don’t go together. You are a total disgrace.

“the reality behind them is nowhere close to what is being described.”

What he means by that: “They had it coming.”

Ah yes. That’s why there are restraining orders out on you. Because it’s all a “smear campaign”.

Fun fact: Kelly knew there were restraining orders on him when he hired him on.

You beat me to it! Comes under the heading of “Be careful what you wish for…” I’m happy to see Trump busily re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Now that would be going ffrom the frying pan into the fire.

ADDED LATER: On the other hand, Ms. Hicks may end up with her own very secure address by the time Mr. Mueller gets through with her.

I think you can find some in the minimum prisons. Although you may want to go to the max just to make certain you maintain the quality you have been getting.

A Republican tradition since Reagan whose SEC head, John Fedders was fired for being a wife beater. And he only had one wife - this guy has two exes who were beaten. A twice divorced wife beater and and a thrice married serial adulterer. Hope Hicks sure can pick 'em.
