The Columbia official who shared this with students jumped the gun - hoping it would be a great recruiting tactic, I am sure. Schools with tremendous reputations and plenty of students vying for a place still try to “one up” each other by dropping names.
Edit: I didn’t realize it was Columbia’s President who made the announcement. That means that the President will likely be at Columbia, but it could be for anything from a visiting professorship (unlikely) to a guest lecture.
