Discussion: White House Hopes Report Will Change GOP Minds On Climate Change

Discussion for article #222439

Perfect picture for the headline. The Republicans can’t change their minds, to do so would be to admit that have been wrong. One needs to be both reasonably intelligent and self aware in order admit mistakes,. The Republicans are neither.

The only way to get Republicans to accept this report, let alone read it in good faith, would be to slap the word Benghazi on the cover.

Here’s when the Republicans will change their minds on climate change. When their asses and assets are under water and then they will blame Obama and Benghazi . . . even if it is 100 years from now.

LOL+12 Characters or whatever?

Every stance the GOP takes harms Americans. Pretending that “harms Americans” will be the catalyst for the GOP to stop stonewalling on climate change is idiotic.

Has Kapur actually gotten more disingenuous?

Here’s your typical conversation with a conservative Republican.

“Do you believe that a man used to live inside of a whale?”
Answer: “Of course.”

“Do you believe that snakes used to talk to each other in human voice?”
Answer: “Of course.”

“Do you believe that a 900-year-old man once built a giant boat so giraffes could take refuge and make love during a giant flood?”
Answer: “Of course.”

“Okay, here’s a 21st century climate change report.”
Answer: “Well THAT needs more study.”

Conservatism isn’t a political ideology. It’s a mental disorder.

Their constituents believe anything as long as it comes from the correct source and disbelieves it if it comes from the incorrect source.

Not a chance in hell of this making a dent in their tribe-based politics.

My mistake, these sorts of places are all looking much the same to me now.

The trouble theGOPPERS have with climate change is that to accept that climate change is occurring as a result of carbon emissions would involve getting their heads out of their asses and having to admit that they did have their heads up their asses. Never going to happen. We have to wait for the die off, which should be completed with 2020.

Can we add this to the TPM style guide? Scientists do not “believe” in Climate Change. The accept the science behind Climate Change. Belief is faith, not science.

Oh, was this during the presser Fox cut out of because they weren’t discussing Benghazi? Yeah, good luck with that.

How will Gopbaggers find the time to read this sciencey stuff - BENGHAZI!!!

I hope to win the Powerball jackpot, too. Like that’s gonna happen LOL
