Discussion: White House: FBI Officials Told Priebus Trump-Russia Stories Were BS

Or perhaps they heard if from Rudy Giuliani and his FBI infiltrator, former NYC FBI office director Kalstrom, and claimed they heard it from the toppest of the top FBI. Giuliani likes to say “Bullshit” a lot. He thinks it will make him less ridiculous.

Sometimes I wonder if 45 misses either Clapper or Brennan.

I can’t imagine that the FBI would make a public statement to buttress its already sagging reputation by contradicting everything Rinse says. No, that would never happen.

Is the FBI looking like a huge mess run by a pack of fools, or am I misinterpreting the available evidence?

Based on ability and track record I’m not entirely sure the FBI can truly be called ‘Intelligence’…

Not sure I’d say that. My own assumption is the White House is totally lying, being otherwise out of ideas about how to handle the situation.

So the FBI can’t comment on it, but they’ll let the White House give the names of the exact officials who gave them the information.

In what planet is that not the FBI commenting?

Once again Comey is using his power to help Trump. Jackass.

FBI approach

Clinton’s e-mails:
We haven’t found enough yet to indict her - yet - but she certainly should be treated like we already have.

Russia - Trump’s Campaign collusion:
Since there isn’t slam-dunk, smoking gun evidence of Trump campaign staff abjectly confessing to complete and total collusion with Russia, we’re going to say - nothing to see here - move along - leave these poor people alone and stop listening to those intelligence agencies that use that crazy standard of 'we are very sure that some bad shit went down here but we do not have airtight evidence yet of exactly what it was.

So Comey called the WH to say that the FBI doesn’t comment on news stories but in this case we will? WTF???
We’ll tell you anything you want to know in private just not in public - because then we would exposed as the sniveling tools that we are. There should be so many people fired from the FBI!!

That’s where I’m at unless FBI comes out and clearly says otherwise.

Just apply Trump’s Razor and there’s your answer.

Is you is or is you ain’t my Feebie?

So they are, in essence, daring the FBI to come out against them? Because, the article seems to put McCabe in the position of being in on on the scam.

He still asked them to do something. Also, if they told him he could sight specfic FBI officials then why did he wait till now? All their doing is scrambling to back track what, if true should have been done a long time ago…which makes me think its bullshit…

look, a standard “The FBI cannot comment on ongoing investigations”
would clear things up—perfectly.

It’s Occam’s razor. You can either believe one thing: there were contacts between campaign people and the Russians, FBI counterintelligence and CIA have been investigating those contacts, and Priebus asked them, at Trump’s prodding, to deny that. Or you can believe the media leaks were utterly false and baseless, that FBI officials were quietly telling the administration that, and that Priebus innocently asked what could be done about it. I suppose a third possibility is the FBI folks, just to be polite, said some particular aspect of the media reporting was inaccurate and the administration spokesliars are building a teetering mountain of denials on top of that. They may also be counting on FBI officials’ reluctance to publicly say one way or the other on the investigations. But there’s nothing about Trump or any of his any circle that militates against telling outright lies that are easily disprovable. They’ve done it consistently all this time. Normal people are reluctant to do that for obvious reasons, but they aren’t, and any such reluctance would be new and out of character for them.
