Remember when there was something called a budget that got passed annually. I remember those days, but them Republicans got mad that a guy named Obama got elected and they refused to pass a budget…the rest is history.

I smell a shitdown shutdown. Trump thinks a shutdown will be good for him. I expect Trump to jam Schumer and Pelosi with poison pills and unacceptable demands, then blame it on Democrats when they say no.

It won’t play out well for him though - except on Fox, maybe.

It would certainly slow down going to conference on the tax bill.

And if the tax bill isn’t passed and signed by the end of the year, then the Republicans have to start the process of a passing it all over again (if my understanding of Congressional procedure is correct).

Really don’t understand why Dems are willing to give any votes for this given the shenanigans with the tax bill. Why aren’t they negotiating to kill that bill?

The government shutting down will hurt lots of folks, but so will this tax bill.
