Sure about that? Republicans have demonstrated very clearly over the last year they are all about Party Over Country. #PartyÜberAlles
Hey @samt, can you shed light on why TPM hasn’t mentioned Dutch agencies provide crucial intel about Russia’s interference in US-elections which came out two weeks ago? Seems like a significant development in Trump-Russia. Thanks!
Similar to @doug_bostrom I’ve e-m tpm@ and tweeted to tpm but crickets…
I was just thinking about this… Trump never hesitates to throw someone under the bus when it suits his current neediness, no matter how much they’ve done for him in the past. So there has to be more, here. I can think of only two possibilities, and they’re not mutually exclusive.
Option one is that the Russians are holding the end of a financial thread that, if pulled, would cause the unraveling of the house of cards that is the Trump Organization. He didn’t run for President to bankrupt his entire family. Faux gold leaf doesn’t come cheap, you know.
Option two is that they have the goods on him - solid evidence of serious financial felonies, a videotape of him raping a teenager, or both.
We saw it when it dropped! It’s about Cozy Bear, the FSB-run Russian hacking team that didn’t distribute the HRC/DNC emails—that was Fancy Bear, run by the GRU—and while it’s an absolutely fascinating infosec story and a great go-team piece about an ally owning the Russians, it doesn’t really come to bear on American politics, which is our wheelhouse. But ultimately you guys are our readership! I’ll keep an eye out for stuff like it, bearing in mind that folks like going down the rabbit hole on that sort of thing.
