Discussion: When Asked About Police Shootings, Bush Brings Up Black-On-Black Crime

I agree with you. Not only is this Bush as intellectually challenged as his brother, but he has the same disdain for humanity that was exhibited by his mother.

But he recognized the righteousness of Stand Your Ground 'cause think of all the unarmed people who wanted to shoot somebody.

No one is surprised, right? That is the GOP talking point with regard to police shootings. No thought required from the candidates or their base.

Does he want to SOLVE the BonB crime problem? THen he needs officers in these communities connected to and trusting the police…

Yep, I can see GWB tipping in spite of his mother’s views on the subject. Jeb!, not so much.

Jesus Christ, you think at this level he’d know that we know, or can easily find out, that all crime is typically committed same race against same race. What a complete fucking moron and or poorly run campaign. Hell I’m almost embarrassed for him, key word being almost.

He just needs to quit now and enjoy living a life of leisure on his inheritance and hope with his ignorance he doesn’t burn through it before he’s gone.

Jeb!!: The hard bigotry of high expectations.

JEB! will be worse because he thinks he’s smart and in control. He’ll be even more convinced of his own correctness in his decision making. He might launch a thermonuclear war believing the righteousness of cause.

Never fails, when asked the right question every Republican will prove a deep seated racism.

And, in predominantly white communities, white people shoot each other. Crime is rooted in lack of economic and educational opportunity and minority neighborhoods usually lack both. Police shootings are an entirely different dynamic. We have a lot of great law enforcement officers and we have some that are driven by the need for authority, bullying and bigotry. Self policing expecting departments to weed out these guys is about as effective as expecting doctors to rat out their incompetent cohorts. It just doesn’t happen. We need outside review boards and prosecutors to handle police shootings. Police shootings should be a last resort, whereas, across the country, it has become almost an initial reflex action.

[***“The police shooting of unarmed black males, which is what the conversation is about as I understand it, is very small.”***]
Translation: “No biggie!”

For the love of all that’s holy, the sooner that dumbazz’ Jeb exits the stage, the better for the nation.

In terms of sheer head-slapping stupidity, I am beginning to believe that Jeb! belongs in the rarified chambers of fuck-ups like Rudolph Hess and, well, the other Bush brother.

A charitable reading would be that he knows his constituency.
Love the line that if instances of unarmed black people being killed are investigated it furthers distrust. Optics!

But this is their reality. Rich white folks who live a fairy tale life and could never imagine the impossible situation of being black, poor without opportunity or hope.

He hasn’t shown much “smartness” to me. In fact, he reminds me of a dunce

I see that one of the officers was female. That kept the testosterone level down, anyway.

That is an issue too, but you did not answer the question at all. One involves people of authority abusing power. That is something the government can be involved with.

This is just Dog-Whistle-Justification of Cops shooting Blacks.
His logic (to charitably call it that) is:
“Ni(CLANG!) are DANGEROUS. They kill each other all the time so Cops HAVE to shoot them to PROTECT WHITE PEOPLE.”
Nothing more, nothing less. Rank racism on display al la Lee Atwater.

You and FirstPrime are on to something.

These are some dangerous people, the Bush family. I believe that NC Steve opined that ALL of these jokers (and the jokerette) on the Republican side are dangerous.

This is why anyone with an IQ north of 50 will be doing everything they can to minimize this Hillary versus Bernie business, close ranks with WHOMEVER the Nominee is and whup some GOP ass.

Up AND Down Ticket.

I also think the recent Minneapolis BLM protests over the shooting of Jamar Clark factored into the situation. The protests put Minneapolis under the national spotlight, especially after some white supremacists fired into the protesters. Without those factors, I suspect the outcome certainly would have been different.
