Discussion: WHCA Calls On Trump To Tell Supporters Physical Violence Against Reporters 'Unacceptable'

It is a sad day when something like this has to be pointed out to the President of the United States.

But he doesnā€™t feel that way. You expect him to lie?

It is kinda disturbing that an organization whose whole job is reporting on the presidency has apparently been paying so little attention to who is President.

If a reporter being murdered and dismembered in a Consulate doesnā€™t bother him, you think heā€™s bothered by someone just getting punched?

He does do it so often and effortlessly, so it would be nice (at least once) if he did it for something good.

For a long time it was mostly about his reputation and public image. But more and more heā€™s in a battle for his presidency, his net worth, and quite possibly his physical freedom. Heā€™s not going to go too far out of his way to rein in his more rabid followers just to keep media people safe.

And it would be a message that runs counter to the rest of his message that the media is the enemy.

If youā€™re not allowed to and even supposed to attack your enemyā€¦

On a much funnier note, Two Scoops has an idea forā€”wait for itā€”a parade! A Salute to America parade, or parade-like object! On the Fourth of July ā€œor thereaboutsā€! We elected him to go in there and really shake things up and boy is he delivering.

If it involves Mueller marching him out of the WH in handcuffs and down the street to the Hill for the verdict in his Senate Trialā€¦ The Mall will be packed. Huuuuuugest crowd e-v-e-r. Bigger than big.

The parade to the TrebutineĀ® is the one Iā€™m up for.

Well, the whole idea was France-inspired to begin with, so itā€™s very fitting. And itā€™d make socko TV too.

Yes, and mail bombs sent to former Presidents and news organizations(CNN). The guy from Florida with his ā€œMAGAā€ van. We were lucky the bombs didnā€™t work.

I have no doubt that, by his calculations, fear of physical violence has a useful part to play in defense of his presidency. We know Republican senators are moral cowards - a few bloodied reporters could send a useful additional message.

Can we throw rotten food at him? Because, if itā€™s anything like Cersei Lannisterā€™s walk of shame (minus the nudity of course :fearful:), Iā€™d make a special trip to DC just for it!

If the WHCA wants trumpā€™s attention, minimize the number of reporters covering him. If itā€™s a choice between being ignored by the media or telling his supporters to back off, trump will tell them to cool it (for a little while).

The press should boycott his orange ass.

Thatā€™s never gonna happen. Trump clearly finds committing violence against journalists not only acceptable, but admirable - cf. Kashoggi, Jamal and Trumpā€™s admiration of MbS, or Trumpā€™s admiration of Putin and how he handles journalists.

Trump is objectively pro-violence against journalists. He even urges his supporters to do it.
