Discussion: What We Now Know Jeff Sessions Knew About Trump Camp’s Russia Contacts

Yup, just ignore it and it will all go away. Like I said, Democrats are effete pussies not up to this fight.

nature or nurture.

That was a genius comment.

Now seriously: Sessions, it’s over - resign.

Stick a fork in him, he’s done.

Any volunteers?

You’re such a nasty woman!

What I’d like to know is would a bale fork be too much?

Edit to avoid the long arm of the law–I was a joke, I wouldn’t hurt anyone. I don’t even own a tracker.

“That same source later modified those remarks, saying it was unclear that Sessions remembered putting the kibosh on this Trump-Putin meeting, but that he definitely did so.”

In other words, it’s a Sessions-friendly source whose knee-jerk reaction was to protect Little Jeffy and then realized “oops, I better caveat that or it’s proof of perjury.”

Edit: Guess who Mueller wants to talk to now. It had to be someone in the room, and we know who was in the room. If I were Mueller, I’d just subpoena every single one of them.

If I were sitting in such a meeting and a junior, unknown person says he has contacts within the Russian Government, high enough to communicate with Putin, I think I would remember that. Not only would I remember, I would be very concerned about it and I think I would probably be asking things like “Who is this guy?”, and “If he has such influence in the Russian government, how sure are we that he’s not actually a Russian agent?”

I think I’d be far more nimble with the barbecue fork but you are welcome to handle all you can manage. hahahaha

I’m a big fan of TPM’s connect the dots style of reporting that fills in the gaps in between the disparate stories and fragments put out by the big outlets. But recently it seems like TPM is quite a bit behind Seth Abramson on this front: https://twitter.com/SethAbramson/status/924988111880417280. (or better yet, read the “unrolled” version https://tttthreads.com/thread/924988111880417280)

I’d love to see TPM’s take on what Abramson has put together. Does TPM have the same take? Is TPM holding back on some of these connection, and if so which ones and why?

Yeah, I’d love to do that.

This new attack on Sessions shows that Senate Democrats are no longer afraid of Trump firing Meuller. Remember last Summer there was a rumor that Trump would fire Sessions so that he could appoint a new AG who would then be able to fire Meuller because he wouldn’t be recused from the case. At the time, Senate Dems were in the unusual position of having to defend Sessions in order to protect Meuller. Since the indictments and guilty plea revealed on Monday, the Democrats in the Senate appear to be less worried. What a difference a day can make.

One would at least remember wondering"Hey, how did the coffee boy get to be BFFs with Putin?"

“What we now know Jeff Sessions knew” has such a lilting cadence. It must be incorporated in a show-stopping number in “Impeachment!: The Musical.”

Seth has had some incredibly astute observations going back 6 months that accurate predicted a surprising amount of what is happening now.

We all knew that at the time. And he’s confirmed why this week http://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2017/11/03/trump-im-only-one-that-matters-fox-sot.cnn

This weeks’ Fire Yourself for Corruption on Friday Award goes to U.S. Attorney General Jeff ‘the Keebler’ Sessions.
Additionally he qualifies for the coveted Epic Fail award for perjury in representing his position of U.S. AG.
