I recall seeing a cartoon animation of trees in a forest during a storm. The flexible trees bent and shook in the wind, and some branches were torn from the main stem, but they survived more or less intact and went about healing their wounds when it abated. The inflexibles fought the storm, and many of them were blown down and left to die. I think that applies here. If you can’t compromise with the other powers in you your universe, your universe will ultimately destroy you…not because it doesn’t like you but because you simply can’t learn to get along with others and share the world. Storms don’t just knock down the old and infirm trees, they also knock down those who can’t adapt to reality.
