I remember when Trump made his bogus announcement about birtherism, took no questions at an event billed as a press conference, and then tried to take the TV crew they were sharing on a tour of his stupid new hotel. When he refused to take questions, the room went nuts—someone said Katy Tur was standing on her chair, shouting questions at him as he left—and then the news directors back in NYC and elsewhere had a hasty conference call and agreed not to run the hotel puffery footage. That was as close to a unified boycott as we’ve ever come. You’re absolutely right, there’s no useful information that’s going to come from that podium. I think the only reason the reporters are there is to demonstrate that they’re not giving up. They know as well as us it’s pointless otherwise. The real work is being done elsewhere, and that you can count on—I’ve said before, they’re chasing the story of a lifetime and they know it.

The Art of the Distraction – that’s what this is. The lead story on the news every time should be about the screwing this tax scam is going to give everyone but the rich, over and over and over, but it’s this, or the sexual misbehavior one. Looks like Trump does have this one skill - distraction, and that’s about it,skillwise. I really didn’t think I could dislike these people more than I did, but I was wrong.

So Cernovich was elevating the conversation about pedophilia when he fabricated the whole PizzaGate nonsense that led to someone shooting up the pizza joint? Russia’s myriad fake news stories were all elevating the conversation about whatever subject matter they contained?

I can’t stress this enough: the entire MSM needs to respond to Trump’s next tantrum of making “fake news” accusations with "We’re sorry, DT, but we’re just “elevating the conversation” about ______________."

  • Disrespected our #1 ally (twice at recent count)
  • Elevated a relatively unknown white christian group to international status (they thanked him for it in gushing ALL CAPS)
  • Promoted fake and snuff videos like a good German (in 1942, or should we just call you ‘Björn’)
  • Intricately tied Egyptian violence with a paid-for Mexican Wall
  • cemented the view that his “terrorist ban” is actually a “muslim ban”

which further elevated the conversation as to his mental capacity.

He means stirring up hatred of the US in the wider world. Says the man who has never actually engaged in a real conversation in his life, because he is so self-centered. What he is trying to do is to remind ALA voters how much he hates Muslims, black people, and women so that they will vote for Roy Moore. He doesn’t mind that one of the videos was a total fake (only Dutch boys involved in the crime) and one other was taken during the military’s crackdown on Morsi supporters and that the fellow who killed the boy has been tried, convicted and executed for the murder in EGYPT.
