Congratulations Donnie on helping the RNC raise $250M - was there any left for candidates after paying for your lawyers and your many “campaign” rallies?
The White House has their broken clock moment.
Well, there is some truth to that.
I voted passionately today, and it’s all his fault.
I went out and canvassed over the past month to “get out the vote” and registered 300+ first time voters (almost all of them under 30) in and around Boise State University and I definitely credit Trump for my passion on that front.
Just in the 10 minutes or so I was waiting in line to vote, 6 people (all under 30) registered to vote then and there (you can do that in Idaho), and of the hundred or so people inside the building at the time roughly half were mid-30s and below. Just a snapshot, and not necessarily indicative of the entire day, but the poll workers said that a LOT of first-time voters and new registrations came out today. They were also saying there has never been a line to vote at our polling place before. The last time records were broken here like this, the caucus that came out for Bernie Sanders broke all of them. I think the turnout, at least in Boise, is likely to match a presidential election year. We’ll see…
And, we have a Native American candidate for Governor here! If she wins, it’ll be a national first. Oh, and yes, that candidate is a woman! And that candidate is a Democrat! And she is really popular around here. I don’t think she’s likely to win, but she’ll put in a strong showing, and is single-handedly transforming the way people here think about our elections. It’s pretty magnificent really.
Anyway, all very encouraging. We’re not really turning Idaho blue this election (is highly doubtful any of the Dem candidates for Congress will cause any surprise upsets) but the trend is alive and well here.
I’ve done my part. Let’s see how the chips fall… fingers crossed!!!
Sorry I’m reading this as “Trump has energized a number of staggering Americans”
The leadership of the GOP would have voted unanimously to take the unknown cutoff that Donner was going to try to get to California sooner.
because they were sot on having a woman president
That’s it. Trump’s followers are basically the “Natives” from Gangs of New York.
And then deny they watched them.
Here’s one from 538 that I really liked hearing…
“Per preliminary exit polls: Young voters (18 to 29) are breaking for Democrats by a massive 37-point margin. This is vastly larger than the 21-point margin by which Hillary Clinton won them 2016 and even outpaces the 22-point margin Democrats won young voters by in the huge “blue wave” of the 2006 midterms.”
And there are a whole lot more of them compared to past elections, especially mid-terms. When turnout is high, Dems win (because there are more of them/left-leaners by a fair margin, in fact…). I’m feeling very encouraged overall…
