Discussion: WH: There Was 'Not A Meeting' Between Trump And New Russian Ambassador

The White House late Friday swatted down claims made by Russia’s new ambassador to the U.S. that he had held a “warm and friendly” introductory meeting with President Donald Trump earlier in the day.

“There was not a meeting,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in an email to TPM.

Straight up gaslighting

Not a meeting just a quiet candlelight dinner for two.

If there’s one thing even more reliable than an utterance from HuckSand it’s an email from her. Also I wonder if TPM queried directly or if Huck just spams every verified email address.
Huck reminds me of the Sultan of Swat, tho.

The White House might be right. These are ceremonial occasions. But Trump has so cheapened truth and shown himself so pliable when it comes to the Russians that no one can trust that there was nothing nefarious afoot.

All we can hope is that Pootie revokes Trump’s Security Clearance.

I see they responded to NY AG Schneiderman’s demands (RE no waiver of rights) in a hurry. Evidently he put the fear in them.

I suspect part of the reason is that it’s clear to them that he’s now going to look at the suspicious sale of stock by the top brass three days before the disclosure of the breach.

Yeah, most people don’t realize that there’s not a Whole Lotta enforcement in the financial world since Trump came in.

We agree with his staff members to continue our contacts.

How chummy of you.

Sarah really is a terrible liar. I wonder where that girl excels.

Hey @chelsea530 , why aren’t the Bros coming out of the woodwork saying “I love the way he fights” in th wake of that photo of Schumer poking his finger in Trump’s flabby chest? Can’t understand it.

Good fricking grief.

If Mr Trump and the Ambassador laid eyes on each other and introduced themselves then they…ahem … met. Which could be interpreted as a meeting since they met.

They have been mysteriously absent since the news about Schumer and Pelosi.

Hard to believe. They usually have all the answers.

Did you dare venture into the Hillary thread? It was gross. I just got a system warning so I won’t be ableto do amything but click like. Anyway I knew that would amuse or irritate you, or both.

The one yesterday?

I read most of it. Same old, same old. Interesting about the Facebook reveal.

Getting harder to use the old criticisms as to why she lost, which amuses me greatly.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE “FREE” CREDIT MONITORING! ROTTEN MOTHERFUCKERS APPARANTLY SLIPPED AN ARBITRATION CLAUSE AND CLASS ACTION WAIVER INTO THE CLICK-WRAP!!!

I’m seeing a division of opinion on whether it covers Equifax or just the company providing the credit monitoring. Until that clear or Acting U.S. Attorney-General Schneiderman makes them stop, don’t do it.

Yes. Lotta very new members, unfamiliar names, trash talking. Bland assertions that wouldn’t fool a five-year-old. And always their untutored take on What The Dems Should Do. Did’t know whether I was listening to Neil Cavuto or Bob Novak.
