And SOP would require you to just take records without a written release and without the doctor being able to make copies of the records he’s required to keep.

It isn’t SOP nor is it legal. The records do not belong to Trump. They belong to the doctor and he’s only obligated to transfer the information in them to the patient or another physician if given the patient’s permission to do so. If the Attorney showed up with power of attorney rights to the records he’d be entitled to a copy of them but can’t make an on the spot demand. Most states give a Doc 2 to 3 business days to get records ready for transfer. Many require they be reviewed by the doctor to ensure legibility and completion ( that’s how I do it ) before they move on. If these guys took the sole copy of records ( which would be difficult as no one keeps just paper anymore ) it would be a theft.

Bornstein has a history of BS’ing and aggrandizing himself. I imagine he’s lying.

I was out working for a few hours and my first thought on getting back is I’m astonished the intertubes didn’t burst into flame over this. Since when is it within a million fucking miles of normal that the president sends goon squads around? How could that possibly be just part of the landscape?
