Discussion: WH: 'Ridiculous' To Suggest That Putin Is 'Happy' About Syria Withdrawal

Deutsche Bank. Loans from them he couldn’t get elsewhere and that bank’s ties to Russian oligarchs. Its history of money laundering. It’s more complicated than most of us can understand but the ties are at the heart of why trumpp is complicit with Russia and its leader. Basically, he owes them. And now Putin’s delirious with the news of what trumpp’s done in world affairs

“Trump is God’s gift that keeps on giving,” said Vladimir Frolov, a Russian columnist and foreign affairs analyst. “Trump implements Russia’s negative agenda by default, undermining the U.S.–led world order, U.S. alliances, U.S. credibility as a partner and an ally. All of this on his own. Russia can just relax and watch and root for Trump, which Putin does at every TV appearance.”

Will this be the time where a judge will have to distinguish between boasting bullshit, and actively directing illegal actions? I don’t think that there are enough Trump supporters that can distinguish the nuances.
After this is over and done with I fear there will be more Roger Stones and those that stood up to Nixon, and saw what he really was and did.

I hope so.

It doesn’t matter what trumpp supporters think or say or what they can distinguish. There’s no doubt they don’t follow objective reporting on what he’s been doing but get their news from Fox, RW outlets and most of all his tweets. By the summer of 2020 when campaigning is getting tight for the prez nomination we’ll see how weak trumpp is and how much opposition from the party he’s going to get.

Is that the Republican party? God I hope so, but they better bring more than their tired old government doesn’t work, and trickle down economics.

We ought to cheer at the incompetence that is the R party. Some talented R may come out of left field and announce he (she?) is going to primary trumpp, but to date, it’s a party on the decline which is a good thing.

Sister Sarah always manages to prove wrong those folks who say “You just can’t make this shit up”.

Sure. It’s ridiculous to suggest Putin is happy even though Putin already gave a press conference saying he is happy about it.

Aren’t there substantial penalties for early withdrawal?

Pulling out before you finish doesn’t satisfy anyone.

I keep a small sign on the wall of my office at work - “Someday, we’ll look back on all this, laugh nervously and change the subject”.

Sadly, I’m currently thinking that’s the best we can hope for, but would be thrilled to be proven wrong…

And thank you for reminding me of one of my favorite Jackson 5 tunes when little Michael sings “… Just look over your shoulder, honey, I’ll be there …”

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders dismissed as “ridiculous” and “silly” the “idea” that Putin was happy about the withdrawal.

Lying liars just can’t stop lying.
They can’t even create minutely believable lies.
“Don’t believe what your eyes see and your ears hear, because none of it is real.”

This entire maladministration is hopelessly corrupt and incompetent.
Eradicate and fumigate before it’s way too late.

If Sarah says so, it must be true. MAGA!

Well, this proves Huckabee works only for Putin not the USA. She must take more direct orders from Russia than Donald does. So how many Far Right conservative organizations besides the evangelicals do the same thing, I wonder? We already know the NRA was working with the Russians during the last election. Still are?

We should all stop using the inane term “collusion” as an explanation for Trump’s relationship with Russia. The legal term is conspiracy. Collusion has no legal relevance.

On another point, I was wondering if one small factor for Trump’s withdrawal of troops is the criticism he’s received for not visiting the troops stationed in combat zones. Since Trump is a known coward, withdrawing the troops will relieve him of that responsibility.

Just saying.

We had no business in Syria from the start. We have sunk billions with little result. We trained Syrian troops for huge money, only to have them run at the first sign of the guns, or get killed immediately.

This is a good move. Thanks, Don.

Flake might, or Corker might. There are never-Trumpers out there, who are in some cases competent people. It will not be Pence, IMHO.

It’s not so much laziness, I think; it’s that the events from George W. Bush on, at least, have demonstrated that there are no consequences for lying. As with everything else that Trump does, it’s just standard Republican practices made public and taken one step further.

I hope we can survive two more years of this lunacy.

Yes, likely someone who’s not trying to protect his R cred, so it could even be Comey. Just a thought.
