Discussion: WH Releases Major Tax Plan, Says ‘Lots And Lots Of Details’ On The Way

“One of the officials, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, also said that President Donald Trump had “no intention” of releasing his tax returns, even though they would show how the President would be affected by the cuts. “I think the America population has plenty of information,” he said.”

Based on my “plenty of information” my conclusion: tRUmp and multimillionaires/billionaires will get a huge tax break and tons of money, and I and others like me (i.e. y’all too) will get their portion of the bill to pay

Anyone else deeply concerned that they are starting to reach a point where they find themselves sometimes thinking it’s time for some plutocrats to start dying in horrifying ways in order to send a message? Where’s Robespierre when we need him?

Trump’s fly over base glossed over the discussion of reporters asking for details. They’re still stumped on repeal of NAFTA, wondering what that means.

I’m sure you already know this but someone somewhere (see? I can be as specific with details as this badministration!) got curious about why 2005? and did some digging. Turns out that, when Malaria was in the process of getting citizenship, she needed to provide 3 years of tax returns. She filed as a single in 2003, 2004 but jointly/married in 2005 so that return had to be pristine, above reproach, um, truthful. So that’s why 2005 and why it’s even more obvious that it was Camp PeePee who released it.

Yep, had read that also. Funny, the media didn’t jump on that.

I saw a number of these “lots and lots” this morning—they parceled them out to business reporters to hype today’s Nothingburger . There is nothing whatever except a “placeholder” to offset whatever hemorrhage of revenue the slashing creates. When you peel back today’s layer of obfuiscation, guess what. The “lots and lots” shaft high-state-tax people, and that inconsequential minority of salaried employees. Didn’t even look like 45 senate votes to me, either.

Sure, you can be a, lessee, a consultant maybe? Don’t have to do anything, just make it sound good. Real grownup and stuff. You good with buzzwords? It doesn’t have to mean anything.

Wouldn’t you think that Mnuchin would be embarrassed to present a financial plan with NO DETAILS??? He’s not a stupid man (just a greedy one.) That’s how desperate the Trump administration is to be able to claim an accomplishment for his first 100 days. It was an EPIC FAIL.

Something that doesn’t get the right attention:

There’s nothing intrinsically wrong with the Laffer Curve. It just points out that there’s a sweet spot of revenue gathering somewhere between taxing at zero percent (no tax) and taxing at 100% (no point in going to work). If reporters would just ask these nihilist clowns to demonstrate where on the Laffer Curve we are now and how they determined moving toward lower taxes on high earners produces benefits, we could have a real conversation about taxes. But they won’t because they’d have to admit their whole purpose is to weaken government.

Journalists on twitter: This is not a plan!
Journalists in news stories: This is a dramatic plan/blueprint/proposal etc

What is the benefit of reducing the number of tax brackets from seven to three? I feel really sorry for the people who are paying 10% one year, then get booted up to 25% the next.

Shorter answer: It’s all the President can understand. Details are irrelevant.

Yeah, I think that’s now. That’s pretty much the idea.

Ah there’s Oliver, there’s Oliver now, he’s at the back. I think he’s having a little trouble with his old brain injury, he’s going to have a go, no, no, bad luck, he’s up! He doesn’t know when he’s beaten, this boy. He doesn’t know when he’s winning either.

I tried to turn in a book report that way in fifth grade. “There will be lots and lots of details later!” I said.

Bottom line: It’s the ol’ “Trust Us” con game. The voters deserves to know! The voters deserve to see Trump’s tax returns! When do we want it? NOW!!

Not that we didn’t already know this, but once again this tax plan proves that Republican whine about the debt only when there is a Democrat in the White House. They are fiscal frauds and always have been.
