Honestly, I don’t think anyone CAN unite them.

Fuck 'em. They are exactly what they want to be. Don’t expect any sympathy from me.

Perhaps it would help if they ran away more?

I think it’s challenging…

Mostly I think Earnest is one of the better press secretaries we’ve had in a while, but I disagree with him here. Heaping scorn and derision on the GOP and lampooning them may be one of the most effective ways of informing the electorate of how totally inept, nasty and divorced from reality the GOP is; they are not a normal opposition party. Let Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi deal with a disunited GOP. I’m certain they are up to it.

I, for one, will taunt them a second time.

will you at least have sympathy for my 12 year old son’s college savings (well, MY savings for HIS college education), my wife’s and my own retirement savings, and our home value, when the house GOP defaults the US, crashes the world economy, and sends everything down the drain?

It will stop being funny if they fail to raise the debt ceiling.

yep. that’s why it’s not even funny to me now. i don’t see any humor in this. at all.

No no. They must be treated gently. If Obama showed us nothing, it is how successfully you can deal with these people by helping them up over and over as they spit in your face.

HighOpinion:

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who is Reid’s presumed successor,
echoed the Democratic leader’s call in a statement of his own:

“If Congress waits around for the Republican Family Feud to resolve itself, we’ll risk a government shutdown and defaulting on our national debt. It’s time for the responsible members of the Republican Party to work with Democrats and forge a bipartisan budget deal, take the threat of default off the table, and protect middle class families from economic disaster.”

I want some of what Chuck is smoking!
