This reminds me of a story from the 1950s, the height of the Cold War, when the patrician Henry Cabot Lodge was the US representative to the UN. In a debate on some issue or other, Cabot Lodge referred repeatedly to the Soviet ambassador as “the gentleman.” Finally, the Soviet ambassador interjected, “I am not ‘the gentleman.’ I am the representative of the Soviet Union” To which Cabot Lodge responded, “The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive.”
Likewise there, loving this country may be part and parcel of disdaining tRump. It is for me.

Why go after Dems? Why doesn’t the WH say anything about Rand Paul? The GOP Senators could pass Pompeo with or without Dem support by a simple majority. Paul’s vote could derail the whole process (although Pence could break the tie anyway).
