Discussion: 'We're Getting Out': Trump Announces Withdrawal From Paris Climate Accord

I read somewhere that our military was spending millions on elevating bases or parts of bases near the sea.
If this is true, will Trump cut the funds saying it is a waste of money.

donā€™t be so sure. there is no reason for the rest of the world to assume that weā€™ll elect a sane person.

we are the worldā€™s enemy. and this speech is the declaration of war.

Republicans control both houses of Congress, will soon cement controlling majorities in SCOTUS and the Federal courts. They control the vast majority of State legislatures and Governorships, assuring further entrenchment of their party after the 2020 Census. Trump and his Cabinet will gut every regulation protecting the environment, workers and consumers in short order.
For all the GOP cares Trumpā€™s actions can assure Obama sainthood. You canā€™t line your pockets with halos.

Thanks, Jill Stein. Btw, is this what you had in mind while smiling at that RT dinner with Mike Flynn and Putin?

Meanwhile, India is on target to reach 40% solar by 2022 - 8 years before deadline.

And inflows to India ETFs are a torrent. I invest almost all my savings in emerging markets. Trump is making sure it is a good investment.

I thought trump was the most ignorant fuck ever.

I stand corrected. Hi, Scott.

This act of planetary vandalism actually makes sense. It seems that Trump has abandoned any position left of the ass-backward, tax-evading, greed-endorsing, ignorance-courting, depravity-wallowing, right-wing blowhards because they will be the only ones willing to save him. No way will he choose a policy benefiting the people or the planet over saving his ass. All his recent decisions show that he gone far to the right and the Republicans are willingly pulling him there because they know has has to, or else impeach.

Thing is though, it wonā€™t work. Heā€™s going down to the rule of law and the GOP will go down to the popular rejection of depraved politicians. Trump gone in 2017, then GOP clubbed in 2018.

I hope someday asks him when we can expect this huge economic growth now that weā€™re out of the treatyā€¦and hold his feet to the fire when it doesnā€™t develop.

I hope this isnā€™t another Mulvaney calculation.

ā€¦negotiations to re-enter either the Paris accord or a, really, entirely new transaction on terms that are fair to the United States, its businesses, its workers, its people, its taxpayers.*

Having listened to his arguments I am afraid there are going to be a lot of people who agree with him. His is a very populist message that will appeal to the folks who are very concerned about a loss of sovereignty to international institutions. That is the same group that voted for Brexit in England.

This might be a positive move for Trump.

That was one of the most surreal presentations Iā€™ve ever witnessed. A man telling me that up is now down, water is not wet and turds smell better than roses would seem less crazy than Scott Pruitt saying that this administration will not cater to special interests, or Trump complaining about the US getting a bad deal in a non-binding agreement.

Everything this so-called President does is ostensibly about ā€œjobs, jobs, and jobs.ā€ Of course, weā€™re practically at full employment now, so who are these jobs for?

Theyā€™re for us, because the other thing this administration is eager to do is suppress wages. Weā€™ll need those jobs heā€™s going to create, because everyone will need to have two or three jobs just to eat.

ā€œWhat do you do for a living?ā€
ā€œI work as a cashier at Wal-Mart, teach school, and help pave roads on the weekends. How about you?ā€
ā€œIā€™m a travel agent and I work customer service for a Fortune 500 company on the phone. Oh, and I also work as a bank teller.ā€

Making America Great Again.
