Yes while whites make up only 44% of the population, they made up 60% of the vote. Hispanics made up 39% of the population and made only 22% of the vote.
Not all Hispanics in TX are here legally though, so it still could take a generation before the true effect can be felt, assuming that they will vote Democratic. Which I believe is a poor assumption to make.

I would have still voted for her had I lived there, but that open carry position was why I didn’t donate. There are places between enthusiastic and alienated, like your base might still vote for you after you anger them, but they might not volunteer for the doorknocks or phonebanks, put up signs or make small donations.
