Discussion: Wendy Davis Loses Texas Governor Race To Greg Abbott

Discussion for article #229799

Sure there will be plenty of criticism over what could have been done better, etc. But after seeing the nationwide results tonight (Republicans pick-up Massachusetts and Maryland Governors !!!) I’d say there won’t be much criticism of Wendy Davis’ 100% uphill race worth listening to.

Congratulations, Texas! You’ve now elected a governor even more mean spirited than Bush or Perry.

I swear, people could be dying in the streets, and Abbott would have them charged with blocking the sidewalks.

Davis’ loss was unfortunate, but it wasn’t the real tragedy in Texas last night. That honor would go to the election, by 58.7% of the voters, of Dan Patrick to be the state’s new Lieutenant Governor.

The Lieutenant Governor actually does the heavy lifting in Texas; the governor mostly cuts ribbons and signs death warrants. And Patrick, a former terrible sportscaster and inept sports bar owner, is now the most powerful man in the state.

Voters will soon regret that Josef Stalin wasn’t on the ballot, as he’d have been a more moderate choice.

Stay tuned…
