Discussion: ‘Weeks, Not Months’ Until Redacted Mueller Report Released Publicly, DOJ Official Says

  1. Barr will not share the report with the WH, for simple reason that it would immediately leak.

  2. I have to believe that Mueller has expressed the strong but ultimately ineffectual opinion that the report must be released in the public interest. Barr will agree but do nothing, counting on Mueller’s boy scout honor and partisan sympathies.

  3. I do not for a second believe that the report will be released within ‘weeks’. Not a chance. Something will come up that will ostensibly leave the AG no option but to delay the release. This is designed to put off a subpoena from Congress and give the DOJ cover in advance of the Congressional hearings scheduled over the next few weeks.

Late January/Early February 2021 at the earliest.

It’s believable. The White House is a building. Doesn’t have too much use for the Report.

There are about 10 questions arising for every question that Mueller actually dealt with. There is nothing which would arouse the slightest bit of trust in Barr, the DOJ or Rosenstein, all of whom are entities that Mueller–the ByTheBook man–had to answer to.

Other reporting has the WH looking at the report and making its own redactions .

It appears that Barr has set himself up to the Fourth Branch of Government, co-equal (really supplanting) Congress.

Agree. Those snakes at the WH house cannot be trusted with anything. Even Trump if you give the report to him he will be handing copies to his pals and buttkissers at Mar-A-Lago. Kellyanne would probably start talking about it on her sleep and George would be tweeting about it in the morning.

The question is, What will we see? And How much will we see?

To be fair, if you gave the unabridged, non-illustrated version to Trump, he’d have to give it to someone else so they could read it to him.

Not sure how reliable this site is, but for what it is worth it says Trump gets to edit the report before it is released.

A dozen cartoonists are feverishly translating the report for Trump right now.

Or not see …
At this juncture we don’t even have a clue how big it is 20 pages or 2000 pages .
So the MSM won’t let that stop them

What for? We all know Dumpsterfire can’t read. He’ll get the Faux News version on the big screen.

But shouldn’t be a problem for the 6 additional pages DOJ releases…

No redaction necessary. A Friday afternoon leak, er, dump is fine.

No redactions of Mueller’s report to lawmakers (Dems) in the House and Senate are acceptable. As few as possible to the publicly released version. Anything less than that belies a corrupt intent.

Probably like the summary was, which isn’t good enough.

They’re playing a fun game right now. Nobody wants to take the responsibility to release it for fear of awakening the grub-fingered wrath of the executive timer, but they know the longer it sits, the worse it looks, and that it will leak eventually. But they’re paralyzed nonetheless.

As usual for this bunch, individual fear leads to group dysfunction. Only the best people in this smooth-running machine.

Barr has destroyed the faith Americans have in the Rule of Law far more than Trump. When Mueller was tasked with his mission, most of us breathed a sigh of relief that Trump and his spawn would face some modicum of justice.

And although many of us are confident that the House has a case for receiving the Report in a prompt manner, there is a great amount of doubt.

And that would be a tragedy of epochal proportions…(a) for there to be a destruction in the belief of the competence of career law enforcement officials and (b) for there to be an inability for these law enforcement officials to bring the worst criminal in American political history to justice.

People can use gallows humor all they want. But America will never be the same after March 24, 2019.

Yeah, actually it probably will be in a few years. Same-ish. You need to take some deep breathes, go for a walk.
