I’d also like to see them do a FOIA between serving and former FBI agents. If it’s personal, they shouldn’t be using official email. If it’s official, there may be smoke.

That wasn’t a leak. That was a fabrication. It’s only a leak if it is true and is not meant to be public. It was never true that an “indictment is likely” in the Clinton Foundation case.

But there is an important unanswered question: was it Fox News fabricating the story out of whole cloth? That is, the FBI sources making this claim never actually existed, and Fox just made the whole thing up? Or were the FBI sources real, but those sources themselves fabricated the story?

My money is on the former. But we’ll never know, because of the very real necessity to protect journalistic sources. Unfortunately that need to protect sources allows less-than-principled news organizations (i.e. Fox) to make shit up and get away with it.

What I like about this is that it completely undercuts the case he’s been making for the last couple of years that the FBI has been actively seeking to damage him politically. Nope, turns out there were people working to help him get elected. Sure, he’ll still claim that the Deep State is out to get him, but that sounds sillier and sillier with stories like this one.

OT: Have you guys seen this? Apparently Jennifer Rubin is speculating that if Dump’s successor is a Democrat, Dump will resign 10 minutes before noon on January 20, 2021. In this scenario, Pence will become president and pardon Dump.

The sad thing about all this is - We can’t turn back the clock. The damage is done, all those people who listen to Fox and voted for trump have been brain damaged forever and a good woman and all the people that voted for her (3 million more than voted for trump) have been thoroughly disillusioned by our democratic system. That kind of damage can’t be undone with a perp walk, that requires bludgeoning, scull cracking, blood spurting satisfaction inducing punishment.
